Company Christmas Party

That's about the only thing I miss about my old job. The first 2 years it was at Dave & Busters, but that got too expensive so they moved it to Great Lakes Brewery the next year and the House of Blues last year. Open bar at all 3 places.

Company Christmas parties can be a complete nightmare.
With many drunk and making asses of themselves.

We're going to the Northside Gym party the 20th.
Should be very low key.
Low in alcohol consumption. Cash bar.
Cost me $20. :tongue2:

Why is this a nightmare? Sounds like a hell of a lot of fun to me. :)

My company has an annual Holiday Lunch where overindulgence is embraced. Things kick off around noonish at a nice restaurant with an open bar. About half the employees stay under control as they have to be somewhat sober when then go home to their families that night, but the other half of us hit it hard - beer, wine, mixed drinks, shots, etc. The official party is usually over late afternoon but a large group will continue the festivities and hit a few bars over the remainder of the night to really tie one on. There's no better way to really get to know that hot coworker until she's hammered.

I just started with this company in August, so I don't know what it's like here. We're going to a pretty nice place (this Sat.), so I'm optimistic.

I've neve worked for a company that had lavish Christmas parties. Mostly drinks & munchies at a nice bar. That's pretty good- I'm easy to please.

Ours is at the marriott, catered with an open bar from 7-9. They usually get us rooms there too, so we round up all the cute single girls and make a night of it after. We're a company of only a 150 people that posted 17 million in profits last fy, so we're expecting 5 figure bonuses this year. good times

We usually have three. The first is firmwide - so it is huge. The food the last three years has been amazing. Only downside is they only serve wine and beer. The next is the one for the division. That one is usually a rented out bar somewhere in the city, and that is the best one. Since no liquor is off the table, this is the one that gets out of hand quickest. The last is the one for the group, and that is usualy just one floor of a bar.

I've never been b/c my commute is horrible. I would have to take a personal day just to make the party which is always on a Friday night, the worst day in Atlanta and the worst time of year to get trapped in a car. Just not worth it. But it's usually held in a nice ballroom or country club, 2 drink vouchers, cash bar, entertainment, lots of nice door prizes (the best of which are electronic gadgets in the $200-$400 range).
