It may have been foolish of me to include the Big Game, but the whole undertaking is extremely foolish so why not compound it? I know the availability of tickets is nil, I'd have to marry into a family, etc. So. My question now is: does anyone have any single daughters they'd like to marry off? If not, how about just keeping me in mind for Nov. 3 and Nov. 17? I am a CFB fan who's managed to scrape together enough funds for the road trip of a lifetime and I'd appreciate any help you guys can give with the above games, but especially the one in the Big House.

If not, then I'll see you at the Los Angeles Coliseum in '08 and in Columbus in '09. Thanks for reading and good luck this season.

EDIT: Aaaaand just in case you wanted to, like, email me.. [EDIT - EMAIL REMOVED]

Wow. That's quite a road trip. I did something similar, but on a smaller scale, back in 1994. My friend and I went to a game in every Big Ten stadium that season, culminating with The Game at The 'Shoe. It was awesome. All said and done, it probably cost about $1500, and (more importantly) we were both single at the time.

Good luck! Sounds like a blast. If you can all of those stadiums and see all of those game that you have listed...well consider me envious. I would love to do something like that some time (although I'm not sure if I'd like to do that in a single year).

This isn't your typical single game ticket post. (Yes, I did read the tips section and I'll gladly line up at that double secret booth thingie, but knowing I have a ticket ahead of time still helps. Anyway.)

I'm currently in Baton Rouge visiting Tiger Stadium. It's the 18th stadium I've visited this season as part of a 30 state, 14,000 mile, ten conference (plus Notre Dame! and Navy!! and Western Kentucky!!!) road trip in my '96 Maxima. I've seen 14 games already, and I am extremely good luck for teams wearing red, excepting Wisconsin at Penn State, which is why you guys want me in the 'Shoe on Saturday night. Or not. Anyway, here's the schedule:

OR
Thursday, November 15
North Texas at Arkansas State (Jonesboro, AR); 7:00 PM
Saturday, November 17
Ohio State at Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI); 12:00 PM
OR
LSU at Ole Miss (Oxford, MS); TBA
Thursday, November 22
USC at Arizona State (Tempe, AZ); 8:00 PM
Saturday, November 24
Notre Dame at Stanford (Palo Alto, CA); TBA
Saturday, December 1
UCLA at USC (Los Angeles, CA); 4:30 PM
I am also considering the Big Game on November 17, but LSU @ Ole Miss gets me closer to 1) Tempe, Arizona 2) the Grove 3) Ole Miss co-eds.

The most common questions I get asked are 1) how are you funding this? 2) why are you doing this? 3) who's your team? 4) can I come along?

1) I have a budget of about $4,500 which includes gas, tickets, food, drink, etc. I sleep in my car and eat Bush's baked beans and canned tuna and Chef Boyardee ravioli, and I'm lucky if the first and last items are hot.
2) Because college football is the greatest sport on Earth, and, likely, the Milky Way. I will not go so far as to say the Universe, because they might have something really, really impressive in Andromeda.
3) USC. Don't hate, we've suffered enough this season.
4) Yes.

So I'm here to ask a few questions: where to go, where to eat, where to drink, etc.? I think I'll get to Columbus by Wednesday or Thursday night, depending on whether I decide to spend Halloween at LSU or Ohio State. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, as mentioned at the beginning, I am looking for a single ticket to the Wisconsin game. (Sorry I put this here, mods, but I'm not just looking for a ticket in this post.) I don't care where it is, as I usually move down to the student section at half time. I do hope someone here might have an extra single and be willing to sell it for a reasonable price to a fellow college football fan.

My email is [email protected]

And for real finally, yes, I plan on being back in Columbus in 2009 for the USC game.

Thanks.

Thanks. I've met a surprising number of people who make an effort to do a 2, 3, 4 or 5 game road trip every year. Just print out the master schedule in July or August and figure out what's geographically sensible.

I tell everyone I meet that there's nothing stopping them from doing a small scale version of what I'm doing.

So where are you at now? Are you still in Louisiana for Halloween, or coming to Ohio?

Honestly, Athens Ohio's Halloween party is legendary -- Ohio Bobcats football, not so much. Maybe you can get Frank Solich to drive you around, though!

Like I need a mickey slipped into my pumpkin beer.

I am leaning towards leaving Baton Rouge tomorrow morning and trying to get to Ohio by Wednesday night, but, honestly, I don't have a costume and I might just spend it in Memphis. Plus that BR--->C'bus drive is not something I want to do in one day. Plus, Memphis. Beale Street. Etc.
