Old Phart here remembering pre-game Friday nights at Planks in German Village, when Jimmy, a local, used to shuffle in, hunched over, sit down at the piano and pound out Across the Field and everyone would sing. He had one foot in the grave then (late sixties) so I know he's long gone, but...those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end... at a time when the university and the rest of Columbus couldn't agree on much of anything, Jimmy and Planks were able to bring everyone together for one thing on which they could agree; Buckeye football.
I've been back there several times, but usually not in connection with a football weekend, and noted that they had added lots of TVs. If you like wurst, kraut, potatoes and beer...and I do... the food is great.
