I don't know what your exact rankings are, but saying the Pac-10 will be the third best conference pretty much destroys any conclusion you make.

You're probably the biggest Pac-10 hater on this board and that's pretty hard considering this is the board of a Big-10 team. You keep on living in your own little world.

My Conference Rankings:

1-T. Big-10
1-T. SEC
3. ACC
4. Pac-10
5. Big-12
6. Big-East

Was anyone else disgusted by their games of the year? What a bunch of shit that was. UL-WVU, CAL-USC, and I forgot the other one. WTF? No OSU-UT, a 1 vs. 2 match-up?

Well, considering WV schedule, if they don't go 11-1 (which, imo, would be sniffing the MNC), then it would be pretty embarassing, imo.

I feel the real embarrassment will be an 11-1 W. Va. team getting downgraded by the SOS components built into the BCS Computer Polls. That more than any other factor should see W. Va. fail to garner the championship game slot.

I know what you are saying, but I think they're schedule should downgrade them. They don't play a winning team from the '05 season in D1A until Nov. 2 when they play Louisville. After that they've got some tougher games (Pitt and South Florida), but still not any game that they shouldn't win fairly easily. The reason I brought this up is because a poster above me said that WV wouldn't sniff the national championship game. I just think that's not true because of their weak schedule combined with their obvious offensive talent.

Last time WVU was picked to compete for the title they finished like 8-4, then last year when no one expected much from them they jump up and have a fantastic season. They SHOULDN'T finish any less than 11-1, but I'll believe it when I see it. And I agree that their schedule should downgrade them.

Nice to see the "Trev Alberts Annual Iowa Suckoff Award" is still being presented to multiple winners ever year. I swear to God, they could lose their top 3 at every position in the spring game to injury, and some ESPN assnozzle would still pick them to go to the BCS.

Does anyone besides Corso really think that Va Tech has a realistic chance to win the ACC this year?

My take on the show.

The assessment of our defense isn't just their's, but a national trend. Everyone is underestimating our defense, and like Herbie said, its becoming a rally cry inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Facility. Our defense will playing with a chip on their shoulder for the first few weeks until the world realizes they aren't going to see the drop off everyone is predicting.

As for Notre Dame, I see them losing as few as one game and as many as four. Their defense will be improved, I'm convinced of that. But will it improve enough early in the season to face Georgia Tech, Penn State, Michigan State and Michigan in September? Purdue scares no one anymore. ND's second half is a virtual cake walk with the exception of USC and a North Carolina Team is that is going to be much better than advertised, I assure you. They have all three service academies on the schedule, which only benefits the academies. If Notre Dame beats them, its no big deal. If Navy or Air Force plays them tough or somehow win, ND is screwed. Sorry Bobby Ross, Army aint got a prayer.

Texas will be okay without Vince. But "okay" isn't enough to repeat. Colt McCoy will likely be the starter but Snead will steal some time under center from him. Mack will need Selvin Young to carry this team on his back early on, and few tailbacks can do that. But I think Selvin is one who can.

The Big Twelve isn't very strong this year. Oklahoma will truly suffer with Thompson at QB. Peterson cannot do it all by himself, especially when the O-line is a question mark as well. Texas will win the Big Twelve but will not be going to Glendale.

USC's off season turmoil is behind them, because the NCAA let it all slide. They should be without Jarret for a few games but ignorance is apparently an allowable excuse for the University of Special Considerations. We fans have to accept that USC and Notre Dame play by different rules than the rest of us and move on. USC will win a lot of games this year. But could stumble against Cal, Arkansas or Notre Dame. I heard them mention Arizona as a potential land mine game for USC. Not sure I agree, but I truly hope Arizona is better than last year. I like Mike Stoops and hope he does well. But the Cats aren't ready for the USC juggernaut.

West Virginia's schedule:

9/2 Marshall
9/9 Buffalo
9/14 Maryland
9/23 at East Carolina
10/7 at Miss State
10/14 Syracuse
10/20 at Connecticut
11/2 at Louisville
11/11 Cincinnati
11/16 at Pitt
11/25 South Florida
12/2 Rutgers

They don't even play rival Va Tech this year. 11-1 at worst with that schedule. 11-1 could be enough to sneak into Glendale. Steve Slaton and Pat White will put up numbers that will resemble playing NCAA 06 on JV.

The Heisman picks of 2 votes Smith, 2 votes Quinn makes sense. But if ND takes two losses in September and finish with a loss at USC, forget about it.

Prediction: Smith and Quinn are going to New York to watch someone else win it.
