College Fantasy Football

hmmmm.

how should we handle playoffs? I added an extra week when doing the schedule by mistake, so take week 12 out. That would make scUM week the first round of the playoffs.....and any (relevant) big ten players would be done after that. should we just have the drafter dig his own grave when drafting big ten players?

that's it....you're drafting last now.
How many teams you want in the playoffs? You can just say top 2 teams make it and play in a championship. Or you can make it top 4 teams with the first week being scUM week and then the championship be all the bowls. If you have players that can't make a bowl then they don't deserve to be playing in the playoffs.

Or you can say the fantasy points the big 10 players put up in there last game be their point total for the remaining games in the playoffs? Or something stupid like that.

How are we going to do "free agent" pick ups? In my old NFL league, it would cost us a dollar to get one, but since this is free....?

And I know they aren't "free agents," maybe we should call them "P.A.S." Players awaiting scholarships.

Free agents are free to pick up at any time. after a player is dropped, he goes on waivers for a few days.....the waiver list will start with the reverse of the draft list, once a team uses his waiver spot, he goes to the end of the list.

All moves have to go through me.

did anybody check out that spreadsheet i made or did i waste like 3 hours on it?
I actually printed it out...good work. Now, could you do a cheat sheet for me per position. :!

I really don't know how to prepare for this damned draft. It is night and day different from doing NFL.

I'll give you some free advice and if you win you have to give me all the props

The basic idea is to draft based on the team. For example pick QBs in pass happy offenses. While Matt Leinhart is the best QB in the nation for fantasy the best QB is Omar Jacobs since he will throw on every down. But of course Omar Jacobs palys for BGSU which is not in our league due to us using only BCS conferences.

So for other positions you want the offense that gives him the best chance to score points. Another example is Santonio Holmes, while he is one of the best WRs out there will Ohio State be throwing him the ball every down? If he was in Florida, or better yet Texas Tech he will see about 20 balls thrown to him every game.

I will go one example farther. RBs, you want a running offense for these guys. For example the RB on Texas Tech or other teams that throw the ball 50-60 times a game won't get many rushing attempts. Where as if you find a RB that will get 30 carries a game then he will gain more yards. So if Nebraska was still running an option you would love to get their RB or better yet their QB since he will gain rushing yards and passing yards. The Air Force QB would be a great example but once again he is not eligible since Air Force is not in the BCS.

The first few rounds will be easy as Matt Leinhart will go high, so will Vince Young and other great QBS and RBs. Later in the rounds it makes sense to pick the 2nd & 3rd string WRs in passing offenses and 2nd string running backs on teams that will run the ball 60-70% of the time.

You can thank me for all the advice and if you notice I didn't give you names

I was under the impression at first, that we were drafting by team position v. individual players per team/position. Are we drafting individual players for the teams or just their entire position?

ex. Oklahoma RB's or Oklahoma RB Adrian Peterson, RB Kejuan Jones.

Their are 65 teams and we have 12 teams in our league. Each team can still draft 5 different positions from the list which is more than enough for a lineup.
