Damn. Living on the other side of the state I only knew of Coldwater by seeing their scores every week - almost always wins. I watched Reed's last game versus Ursuline on STO last year, the first time I saw them.

I'm going watch the rematch tomorrow morning. Sad to see the coach pass so quickly after last year's match. May he RIP.

Coldwater had another awesome year finishing 10-0 and ranked #1 in Div V and earning the #1 seed in Region 20

Here are some facts to chew on:

Coldwater only gave up 54 pts total in the regular season, 22 of those in week 1 to Div III Kenton.

4 shutouts

Of the 10 regular season opponents, only 2 finished with losing records and 4 made the playoffs

They outscored their opponents 358-54. The average score was 36-5

Another State Championship Game appearance for the Cavaliers. An amazing stat: of Coldwater's 10 regular season opponents, 6 made the playoffs, 4 won their region and 2 are playing for the State Title in their division.

Coldwater's only loss this year was to 2-time defending State Champion Marion Local (who are back in the title game again)

The Cavs go for their 2nd consecutive title at 8:00 PM Saturday in Ohio Stadium.

Congrats to all 7 state championship winning teams! Special shout out to the three champs from the mighty MAC! Coldwater, Minster & Marion Local all brought home the big trophy!!! Another shout out to LaSalle High School, coached by former Minster coach, Nate Moore!!!

Due to the rotating schedule, there is one team you don't play every year, so I believe everyone in the MAC can say that except New Bremen (who didn't play Minster), Fort Recovery (Coldwater) and Parkway (Marion Local).

Just some stats for you... All-time in the playoffs, the MAC is a combined 220-38 when playing against non-MAC teams; and 114-8 in the first two rounds (regional quarterfinals and regional semifinals).

Incredibly, it looks like 2015 was a clone of 2012. Coldwater finished 10-0, ranked #1 in Div V but only earned the #3 seed in Region 18.

Coldwater only gave up 49 pts total in the regular season (14 of them to Marion Local)

4 shutouts

5 games allowing only 1 TD

4 of their opponents finished with winning records, 2 of them were 9-1 with the only loss to Coldwater. 3 made the playoffs

They outscored their opponents 382-49, with the average score being 38-5
