Not when you're dealing with the force of gravity. The increased distance above the bowl won't make an equal increase in back splash.
I think it would still hit your ass. You're not talking about an amount of water equal to the turd, so gravity wouldn't prevent it from coming up the extra 8 inches. Also, the original distance (from a normal, seated position) is short enough for the backsplash to travel so that it can hit your ass with enough force to be uncomfortable if it hits the right spot. Any fluid dynamics experts around to shed some light on this argument?

If you have diarrhea though, that could get pretty messy.

Covering the entire seat in liquidy fecal matter.

It may or may not, but the increased distance will also allow the direction of the turd to change , causing a 'belly flopper', instead of a straight in dive.

As an example, when your favorite diver, Greg Lougayness, over rotates, he causes more of a splash than he does when he enters the water vertically.

I agree it's a pain but not as bad as having to take out contact lenses every night.

They do have lenses now that you only have to switch once a month. My son has them - you get a year's supply at a time, and only take them out to switch to a new pair once a month.
