If the projections are right, by the time its eighth season wraps up this fall, the Clintonville Farmers Market will have drawn as many as 60 food producers from across Ohio.
No matter how many farmers end up participating, however, none of them is likely to steal the distinction Joseph Swain earned earlier this season: the grower who traveled the shortest distance to sell his goods.
While most of the market's vendors cultivate their produce 15 miles to 75 miles away, Swain's crops are sprouting barely 10 blocks from the market, which comes to life near N. High Street and E. North Broadway each Saturday during the growing season.
