Cleveland Indians Thread of Malaise (2014 Season)

Santana da gawd.

The rotation is seven deep, it's just most of them suck. Starting arms need to be a priority if they move Masterson or Cabrera. Not much in the minors and Carrasco should be left alone now that he's had some success.

Oh no, we suck again.

lol

fall practice soon, right?

I believe the Waterboy was on ABC family at the same time.

If only the Tribe had Bobby Boucher.

Anyway, I'm not sure why anyone cares about pitching, their lives would be a lot easier if there were any runs to be had on any consistent basis. (Preferably before the 8th inning too, but, whatever)

There's just no consistent middle of the order presence.... at all, I know this is baseball lineup 101, but, even with the injuries, if you could have Kipnis most of the year hitting 2, Brantley 3 and some combination of Santana, Brohio and Chis (We suck with him being good? There's a fucking problem)5, 6, and 7. You could have a chump leading off when Bourn is hurt and let Cabrera hit 8 and you'd be ok... and move Gomes up when he's hot and you need a match up... why am I typing... ugh.

The worst part of this lunesta nap of a season is that the guys that may have been useful as trading chips at the deadline like Masterson and Assdribble have turned in cheetah turd seasons and aren't worth a 1987 Topps Cory Snyder card in a cheap hard plastic holder.

Plus, the tiggers are doing their usual act of letting everyone hang around until August before pulling away fueling delusions of contention for the division. Assholes. Fuck m*ch*g*n.

So basically, our "ace" heading into this season was just dealt for the Cardinals #8 prospect, Justin Ramsey. I guess "some dude" is better than getting nothing when he asks for $15M/per this offseason.
Acquiring "some dude" is one of the strengths of this front office. See Santana, Cabrera, Kluber, Gomes/Aviles. They need to put Ramsey at 3A to see if he's ready to contend for a spot next year. Because a deficiency of this front office is identifying free agents.

They still need arms, if Cabrera is moved I expect to see a pitcher come back.

Further research shows he may actually be a "decent" prospect. Given the steaming turd Masterson has been this year, and his injury status, I guess that's a pretty good return. They sure as hell weren't re-signing him this winter.

Really, in the short term...meaning the rest of this season...that deal means nothing. They're still technically in the WC hunt, and dealing an injured pitcher who has sucked all year doesn't hinder anything.

His numbers will improve by switching leagues and simply having Carpenter, Jhonny and Wong/Ellis on D instead of Chiz, Cabrera and Kipnis. Hell, his numbers would be better with Ramirez and Lindor behind him. Kipnis can learn LF as far as I'm concerned.

NFBuck is spot on, there's no move that will make this team 5 games better or worse this season. I just hope they wash their hands of the Murphy/Raburn mistakes and don't allow Swisher/Bourn to stand in the way of kids simply due to their salaries.
