Cleveland Indians (official 2012 season)

This shouldn't really surprise anyone. This is essentially the same team that went 50-67 after that unreal start.

I know injuries played a factor, but did anybody really expect Sizemore to contribute this year? Did anybody really see Kotchman as a significant upgrade over anybody? Derek Lowe? This team sucks out loud.

They're a ways off from competing, too. Unless Kipnis and Chis turn out to be legit stars, there's a major dearth of young offensive talent that's near ML ready. Weglarz looks like a lost cause. Seems to me you have to dig down fairly deep into the system to find offensive prospects. Just have to hope some high draft picks in the coming years start to pan out. That, or hope they get aggressive in FA when Pronk's anchor of a salary comes of the books.

Fuck, I hate being a Cleveland sports fan. :smash:

All I know is, if they're gonna suck, I hope they dive in headlong and embrace the shit. I don't want them to suddenly turn it on for a couple of stretches and end up drafting in the 6-10 range. It's time to embrace the suck and start picking in the 1-3 range. This roster is bad enough that 100 losses is a good bet...if they don't eff it up...

You know it's going to happen though....they will be looking at a top 3 draft spot going into August and then all of a sudden rip off a streak to end the season and end up in said 6-10 range.

after the solo HR they had 2 on with no outs....and produced 0 runs out of it....a common theme for the Tribe (2nd and 3rd with 1 out and couldnt put the ball out of the infield)

It's his first full year in the minors, you really expect an 18 year old kid to come in right away and be a superstar? Lindor is not going to be a big time power hitter everyone should know that, he will probably be somewhere between 10-15 HRs per year.

not saying Lindor is going to be Derek Jeter, but Jeter hit .210 and had a .919 fielding % in his first full minor league season.

I could'nt care less what Jeter did. Lindor was a guy who was supposed to have advanced hitting tools, his BA should not be below. 350 before the 10-15 game mark. Especially when he has an ETA of 2014.

Yeah your right the BP is expected to give up a 3 run lead. What a troll
You cannot be this dense. What's the offense's job? To get on base and score runs. They're doing neither. Look at today. If they lose, it's all Masterson's fault, right?

Nobody here is saying that the BP doesn't share blame, but to say that the offense has none is an incredibly simplistic view of things, and makes it impossible to take anything you say seriously. And it's always a good idea for the new guy to call a long-standing member a "troll".
