I agree with most of your post but the problem with last year and also this year is that they had been playing good baseball while kids are still in school and the weather has not been very nice and usually never is this time of year up in Cleveland. I cannot see sitting through a baseball game when the weather is that nasty. However, even if they were playing poor baseball and the weather was nice I would probably go to a few games if I could.

Also, I think it is difficult to compare football and baseball because there are so many baseball home games as compared to the number of home football games. The NBA I just do not like and I have no idea why people even watch that crap on TV. It is just football without pads anymore.

Baseball while kids are still at school? Really? Couldn't that be an excuse for EVERY team in MLB? But we are still last. Weather I can understand, but besides the first month the weather has been pretty decent. It was 80+ yesterday and we still couldn't crack 20k. Oh wait... now it's too hot?

Seriously? They were a pretty consistent winner for a decade (1995-2005), when they only had 2 bad seasons. Other than that, they were one of the most inept franchises on record. Other than those years, 6 winning seasons since 1960 is not exactly lighting it up.

I am not going back 50+ years. Just over the past 20 they are the most consistent winner. Yes they have had a few bad seasons, but still much better than anyone else in this town.

But like NFBuck said... the bar isn't very high.

I am hoping Carrasco is not another LaPorta, meaning another guy that the front office just insists will be a ML caliber player, despite no evidence to support the claim, and in fact repeated evidence against it. He's young so there is still a chance...but then so was LaPorta.

Sorry for gravedigging, but Carrasco is shining while pitching half his games in the launch pad at Huntington Park. Further, he put together ~170 innings of major league average ball in 2010-11 at age 23-24. The headcase issue can't be overlooked, but Bauer is a cocky mofo too who keeps getting hit around.

I really like the Salazar/Bauer/Carrasco/Soto group at AAA...likely to get a few years of solid pitching at the big league level. No stars but I think they are more at the Kluber/McAllister level than Huff, Nieve or other 4A jabronies. LaPorta has 'earned' the 4A tag.

I just read that the Royals have hit 2 (TWO!) homeruns in their last 23 games. Holy feck. How is that even possible? They have all of 28 through 50 games so far. Jeebus...

These fools gave up on a Top 5 prospect in Wil Myers to get at-bats for...Jeff Francoeur. Quite possibly the worst position player the the AL, if not the majors. They also parted with their top pitching prospect in the Myers trade...James Shields has been good but that shouldn't be a deal a 90-loss team should be making.

[censored] Hagadone is terrible....walks first batter of the inning then gives up a 2 run HR on the first pitch to the next batter

And yet they send down Barnes after one bad outing, and he can go multiple innings in long relief. And they continue to run Hagadone out there. Makes no sense to me.

It's simple. I need somebody on this roster to HATE. With Perez on the shelf, Hagadone was next in line.

Yes, he is a fucking worthless dingleberry.

Still right behind the Tigers but this road stretch with the Yankees, Tigers, and Rangers should really show us what this team is made of if anything.

I do not know what to say about Hagadone except that they must still trying to justify what they received for Martinez. I just cannot understand how many chances they are willing to give this guy. Maybe he will run out of options one of these days.
