Cleveland Indians (2013 Season)

They did over exceed all of our expectations.

There's always next year.
In a narrow point of view, sure. They've won more games than most expected. But, it's a very hollow record. They have been pantsed by pretty much every solid team they've played. I don't care about beating up on the Twinkies, Astros, and Royals of the world when they get annihilated by the Detroits, Red Sox, and now Braves of the world. W-L records mean shit when you can't beat the teams ahead of you, and these schmucks cannot. Hell, they aren't even competitive against those teams. This season ended on August 5.

this team is the ultimate smoke and mirrors club. people say the offense isn't bad because they are tied for 7th in the AL in runs scored. however, they scored 19 runs in a game, more than any other club, and did it twice. i get the argument of not removing outliers, but honestly, if you take away those two games, they are in the bottom of the AL in runs scored. They are also in like 11th in the AL in batting average, and 7th or 8th in home runs, with their two primary HR threats now on the DL and playing for the Yankees.

This is a team that has gotten surprisingly good starting pitching, and respectable bullpen work once it was stabilized. but they need to make some tough decisions this offseason. first off, can they really trot out Cabrera at short again next year. his sporadic defense and seemingly more common brain lapses were tolerable when he was hitting ,280 and swatting 15-20 hrs. but barely scraping .240, with a downtick in defense and a loss of all power numbers is a serious problem.

i think the chisenhall experiment needs to come to a close, but they might give him spring training next year.

i actually like the 1-2-3 of this batting order. if this team could find a DH somehow that wasn't a human windmill like reynolds, they could be in business next season.

Indians trade for Jason Kubel from the D-backs

He's batting a whopping .220, 5HR's, and 32RBI's
World Series.

...and I agree, and have been saying it for over a month now...Chisenhall is dogmeat. He cannot hit ML pitching, and his glove is a nightmare. Even if he improves both marginally, he's still a well < average ML third baseman. Just add him to the Marte-LaPorta scrap heap and be done with it.

Speaking of LaBusta, we went to a Clippers game the other night and got to watch him walk and then try to go 1st to 3rd on an infield single.

I swear it was the stupidest base running move I've ever seen at any level. The guy rounded second and headed for third LOOKING at the Short stop who had the ball in his hand.

You know, the sad thing is, if these hacks could even be competitive with the better teams in this league, they'd be right there, with Detroit. Some how, the kitties are only 6.5 games up on these perpetual losers. With that roster, that is ridiculous.
