Cleveland Indians (2013 Season)

Interesting (to me, anyway) comparison:

Johnny Damon, 2012 with CLE: 207 AB, .222 BA, 27 SO, 17 BB, .329 SLG, .610 OPS, Salary: $1.25M

Mark Reynolds, 2013 with CLE: 335 AB, .215 BA, 123 SO, 43 BB, .373 SLG, .680 OPA, Salary: $6.0M

Never thought that the Tribe would exceed the Damon level of FAIL so quickly.

162 game averages:

Rob Deer: 120 H, 81 R, 21 2B, 32 HR, 84 RBI, 81 BB, 198 K, .220/.324/.442, .766 OPS

Mark Reynolds: 131 H, 88 R, 27 2B, 33 HR, 93 RBI, 77 BB, 212 K, .233/.329/.465, .794 OPS

They are almost the same player

Rob Deer is the Cubs hitting instructor. The same guy who once hit .179 over a full season, and .220 for his career is a hitting instructor. So, maybe Reynolds has a future there.

Anyway, predictably, these queef ferrets have gone from only 3 games back in the division and a half game up in the wildcard to -6 and -2.5...isn't that pretty much the most cleveland thing ever? Lousy goons.

Seeing the Tribe's Twitter feed is making me depressed realizing the fate of a Cleveland sports fan, yet again. I've needed to get out of the house today, and this lousy game is going to be my motivation. Gonna go out, take some pictures, maybe have a drink or two. Who knows, maybe I'll come back to a miracle on the recap.

One can always dream, right?

Stick with the pictures and drinks, Mike.

Who gives a shit? They just got swept out of the biggest series this franchise has played in 5+ years. Yay possible wildcard only to get hammered by Boston or Detroit (again)?
