Cleveland Indians (2013 Season)

Hope we aren't all looking back at August 5 as the start of the swirl around the drain.

Francona has his work cut out for him as that was a heart breaker last night.

The team has to be fed up with Perez and his act. He's been good, but he's just an unlikeable son of a bitch and to bail out on interviews after the game is just bush. I know he hasn't spoken to the media since his return, but come on...he's the sole reason they lost what could be the most important game of the season. Some blame goes to Tito for even putting him out there, but once Perez takes the mound it's all on him.

He should talk to reporters to take some of the heat off of the other players in the room, especially Kluber.

I don't think I've ever disliked a player as much as Perez. The guy is just a monsterous douchebag. And he won't talk to the press, or own up to anything, because he's a fucking child.

What can I say... I like the douchebag... could be the contrarian in me, or the baseball player in me that knows closers are just cut from a different cloth and don't mind his act.

But after saying that... he better not blow another fucking save in this series.

Tonight is pretty much a must win imo...last time we suffered a brutal loss was in Boston when we blew I think a 4 run lead...we followed that up with a nice losing streak...that cannot happen again which is why this is a huge game for the team...im predicting 0 runs for the tribe tonight

Wouldn't shock me.

Perez deserves his share of the blame, but I think it might be a little overstated. Once again, the offense's inability to muster anything of note was an issue. Since the AS break, seven times they've been held to less than 6 hits and 3 runs. I know Sanchez is a good pitcher, but these guys are so feast or famine, it's disgusting. Other than Kipnis, there isn't really anybody in this lineup having what anybody would consider a "good" year. Smooth and Brantley have been okay. Bourn has been solid. But guys like Swish (I know he's banged up), Reynolds, and AsCab are barely pulling their weight. Gomes andRaburn have been good in part time roles. Chis still hasn't shown anything on a consistent basis.

Luckily, the pitching has won them more games than you'd expect, and they have had their share of "clutch" performances of the walk-off variety, but at some point, somebody other than Kipnis is going to have to show up pretty much every night. They've been a classic "grinder" team. We'll see if they can bounce back tonight. My gut tells me that last night starts a long downward spiral, but this team has been way too unpredictable to write them off just yet.

Perez has ONE JOB....and that is to get 3 outs at the end of the game

obviously he did not even come close to doing his job last night....as he gave up 4 runs and got 0 outs
Oh, no doubt. I hate the cock monkey. But, they need to score more runs. And, frankly, Tito was playing with fire running him out there a third straight night.
