Cleveland Indians (2011 Season)

And... there is something to be said for the fact that we're (I think... ) about 4th in MLB in runs scored, so something is working... and.. while it's not wat you usually think of... the point about the .350 OBP is true... and I don't have time to look it up, but, I'm sure there's some value "Sabermetrically" about leaving him in that spot vs. others.

Now in a completely unscientific point (compared to the mostly unscientific point jsut made) is that if Wedge were still Manager, every combination of lineups we've described in the last few pages would have been already tried and subsequently discarded after one game.

So, to be honest, I'm kind of ok with the, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach.

Wedge's potential favorite Lineup:

Lou Marson C
Buck/Duncan LF
LaPorta 1B
Valbuena 3B
O Cabrera 2B (only because Valbuena can't hit twice in a row to strand himself)
Choo RF
A Cabrera SS
Santana DH
Brantley CF

Little rally going here...this team makes up for the lack of overall talent with some fucking guts...

Yes, indeed. A lot of fun to root for them, even as a Reds fan.

4-1 on a throwing error. This was a playoff team last year?

It's hard to believe.

Santana will be back Tuesday, as will his .208 batting average. Acta believes in Santana as a cleanup hitter, but he may be able to reshuffle the pieces around him if Grady Sizemore is ready to come off the disabled list at the end of this week.
Sizemore hit .282 with 15 runs, 10 doubles, six homers and 11 RBI in 18 games in the leadoff spot only to injure he right knee May 10. Michael Brantley has been an effective leadoff hitter as well, which gives Acta the option moving Sizemore into the middle of the lineup when he returns
