Cleveland Indians (2011 Season)

I wouldn't go that far about Pomeranz. Yeah, he looked really good this year, but we should know from experience there's no such thing as a sure thing when it comes to prospects...especially pitchers. I'm not thrilled about the trade, but I'm willing to wait and see. Jiminez isn't really short-sighted at all. He's signed thru 2013 and most expect them to work on an extension for him. Plus it makes me happy that Antonetti isn't afraid to make that kind of move. Maybe they'll actually be agressive in FA this winter.

Maybe its the Cleveland in me...I just think of trading a great first round pick for Phil Taylor and then drafting a shitty college receiver named Greg Little.

Wrong thread but I'm just a bit pessimistic right now...

I see how well Kipnis and even Chis have done since being called up and I wonder what Pomeranz could have provided vs. a pitcher who was having a SHITTY year anyways...

His numbers were heavily skewed by Coors this year. On the road, he was actually quite good. I'm hoping his debut was just jitters and that translates over. Also, given the depth of SP in the organization, White's health questions, and Masterson's emergence as an ace, it isn't nearly as damaging long term as it seems.

Eh..the Coors disadvantage has been largely overcome by the humidifier which is bullshit in of itself...

Anyways, Alex White threw sevreal very good games and was at least a solid rotational pitcher. Pomeranz was throwing gems in the minor leagues and was a piece for the future.

At the same time, Jimenez has just been inconsistent, hasn't been able to find the strike zone, and been raked all over the NL West this year.

I just don't understand a trade of our #1 farm pitcher for a pitcher in the big leagues living on a reputation from last year, and last year only.

aahh ok 2 in bean town and the one in Tex come to mind now.
We count the walk off losses as wins:(

For you guys that have been bitching about Duncan being called up give me Duncan over Kearns any day of the week and I might even take him over the fat ass who plays first base sometimes.

you guys have more 9th inning wins/loses than anyone in the history of basesball!

Sloppy inning of at bats there, not surprising. Need more runs, cannot squander good pitching again.

Also worth pointing out that Kipnis has turned two double plays without a hitch...

Andrus/Hamilton/Young due up...time to see what Tomlin is made of.
