I was under the impression that they were going to look for present tense offense, but a power hitting first baseman type is certainly an organizational need. (I guess the deadline goes through tomorrow at 6)

Where does this leave Josh Naylor? I'm assuming no change this year, but maybe move him to DH next year.

Seems like the Guardians are punting on this year.

Civale is a pretty average pitcher who is having a hot streak right now. It’s a pretty good trade for us considering the lack of those type of bats in the upper farm. This year is a mess anyway. Even if they win the division they aren’t going far. So zero problems with this.

He's hit .232 and .206 in A-ball. Wouldn't hold my breath.
