If you’ve watched Ortiz pitch this season, you know for certain that this particular pitch does not stand out as unique. He’s uncorked plenty that look pretty similar.

Last year they found creative ways to win, this year they are finding "creative" ways to lose

In the last 4 games they have allowed 5 runs in regulation innings and lost all 4.
They have been shut out 5 times in the current 9 game losing streak.
But losing a game where you gave up 1 hit in 9 innings and your closer allowed the tying run on a hit batter and wild pitch - unbearable.

I will grant you that the Cleveland hitters are actual savants at suckitude. But .300 is no longer a real measure of hitting success, as there are only 9 hitters in all of MLB that are currently over .300 (thats out of the 157 players currenly listed as eligible for a batting title). The current overall average is around .242 (https://www.tribtoday.com/sports/20...RK (AP) — Baseball,first full month last year.)
Cleveland currently has a team batting average of 0.224, just above the last place White Sox with a team average of 0.222. For comparison, Houston is first in team batting average at .261. They are also at or near the bottom in nearly every other batting statistic.
So yeah, Cleveland majorly sucks at hitting.
