Cleveland Guardians (2025 Season Thread)

Managed one hit tonight.

The “experts” say this organization drafts so many pitchers because it is more effective to trade pitching for hitting. It might be time to test that theory.

I miss the John Hart days of average starting pitching, solid bullpen and position players who could hit. Yeah, they didn’t win a series, but they were more fun to watch.

On to 2026!

This lineup couldn't fall out of a boat and hit water. But at least the $2 drafts, dollar dogs and fireworks were worth it.

St. Louis fans were cool.... except this weird duo who sat in front of us that were deliberately being dickheads.
Yeah that's pretty sweet. Never going to see that in Cincy with this ownership.

Not trying to be hyperbolic but I absolutely hated the Josh Naylor trade prior to season. Great clubhouse guy with his brother also primary catcher.

Was just a gut punch. He’s having a really solid year, although also a bit injury prone.

Hindsight being 20/20, I think they take that move back….I kinda felt like this season was over before it even started by taking him out of our lineup and replacing him with an over the hill Carlos Santana….it was never going to work IMO.

Sounds like gambling.

Sources: Guardians' Luis Ortiz subject of gambling investigation

Cleveland Guardians right-hander Luis Ortiz is under investigation by Major League Baseball after a betting-integrity firm flagged a pair of pitches that had received unusual gambling activity, sources told ESPN on Thursday.

Sources said betting-integrity firm IC360 sent an alert in June to sportsbook operators regarding Ortiz, whom MLB has placed on "non-disciplinary paid leave" through July 17.

The alert, according to sources who reviewed it, referenced action on Ortiz's first pitches in select innings to be a ball or a hit batsman in two games: June 15 against the Seattle Mariners and June 27 against the St. Louis Cardinals. In both the bottom of the second inning against the Mariners and the top of the third inning against the Cardinals, Ortiz threw a first-pitch slider that was well outside the strike zone.

The alert on Ortiz's first pitches flagged bets in Ohio, New York and New Jersey. Betting on the result of first pitches is offered by some sportsbooks, with such wagers commonly referred to as microbets.
