bingo just sad Dwyer won with 2 different scoresDiego-Bucks;1762372; said:What a joke for the officials at the end of the Dwyer game. Just awful officiating. You have a play that the game-clock doesn't start, a play that should have been blown dead rather quickly but wasn't. Then it looks like Dwyer scores, but the refs don't say anything. Crazy!
Yes, they certainly looked like they scored at least once, maybe twice. The problem is the combo of the non-clock start on some plays allowed Dwyer a bit more time to run their plays then the complete lack of confidence from the officials on what happened on the field. Also the missed catch in the end-zone... argh. Has to be frustrating.I'll give it to the ref on the td catch...tough to call when youdon'thave the best position. It was obvious on the replay. But that was probably some of the worst officiating in the ending seconds of a game that I've seen. Absolutely atrocious. There was no doubt that young man was in the endzone. What a shame.

GoodLifeSean;1762386; said:That's the biggest thing. Controversy aside, those young men from Glenville played their hearts out. I'm sure calls were missed on both sides, but both teams played their hearts out. Don't lessen that by complaining about officiating. What are we, U fans?
Great game Tarblooders.
COLUMBUS, Ohio - It was a wild and contraversial finish to the first game of the day at the Kirk Herbstreit National Kickoff Classic at Ohio Stadium on Monday afternoon. The Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville Tarblooders appeared destined for a loss down 22-6 with little more than a quarter of football left to play. But Shane Wynn sparked the team with a 83-yard kickoff return and then ultimately a V'Angelo Bentley 29 yard TD run put the Tarblooders up 26-22 on William T. Dwyer high out of Palm Beach Garden (Fla.).
After that point things got a little bit dicey as it appeared the road Panthers scored on a strike from quarterback Jacoby Brissett to Tommylee Lewis but the officials saw it another way and despite replays making it appear to be a score it did not count. Big time recruit Nick O'Leary was Johnny-on-the-spot for a pair of 4th down conversions to give Dwyer extended life. A pair of goal line runs however were not ruled touchdowns and that is where the game ended. On the flipside after a Glenville stop the clock did not start with :32 seconds left to go so the end of the game was shaky going both ways from an officiating standpoint but it doesn't matter in the final record books. The Buckeye State took the first game of the interstate doubleheader 26-22 and the Tarblooders advanced to 2-0 on the season.
