Since 1995, NBA ratings have been on a steep decline
In 1995, HH ratings were 225% higher than this year (and this year was a significant increase over last year)
Interestingly the Cavs have been in the elite level of fan viewership; top 4: Warriors, Cavaliers, Thunder and Spurs .. none of the major metros
Folks around the country liked the Cavs; they had an avg 8.2 rating.. that's huge
LA is a huge TV market but seldom gets over a 2.0 rating for the Lakers and less than 1.0 for the Clippers...
I suspect a big spike early in the season, tapered off by Christmas.. and at best equal to this year by season end

Not sure how you came to that conclusion considering how much Kevin Durant has been and continues to be shit on. The only reason anyone wants to see more super teams now is because they hope the Warriors' super team gets destroyed.

NBA ratings are up because games aren't 4 hours long, they have a lot of likable and marketable players, the league and teams embrace social media, and Adam Silver is a savvy motherfucker.

Probably more of a Lebron thing than a Cavs as a team thing when it comes to "around the county" audience. I'm sure the Lakers viewings will skyrocket this year.

I remember Gary Payton and Karl Malone both signing with the Lakers as free agents, joining Shaq and Kobe. Four hall of famers coming together 5 years before Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett joined Pierce in Boston.

Yeah but honestly if you looked at Payton and Malone they were just shells of their former self, like Wade joining the Cavs. You weren’t getting the Mailman and the glove from the mid 90s... you were getting their 10 year older uncles. In both their cases their legacies were already written they were just trying to blatantly get a ring.

Okay, great. Again, LBJ's Laker specific legacy is likely far down his list of priorities. He'll be considered the #1 or #2 best PLAYER of the sport EVER. And if one is going to consider winning rings as the ultimate measure by which to rank a player's legacy (I don't and feel that's an awful deciding metric for a TEAM sport), then your list includes guys like Robert Horry, Ron Harper and Derek Fisher.

I get the reason for saying they aren't interested in trading Love but they need to get it done before the trade deadline.
Our first rounder next year goes to Atlanta (top 10 protected). So maybe not a Philly style tank is the right path but to finish outside the top 10 is insanely stupid.

If we could get a promising player and a first rounder it needs to happen (think Bam or Winslow and 1st rounder from Heat).

I've watched a bit of summer league action.
Cedi is a legit 10 year NBA player.
Sexton is athletic with some nice tools but needs to develop a 3 point shot.
