Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

This team, outside of the "Big 3" is pretty much trash, and the defense is abysmal. Its gonna take significant improvement to get out of the East this year.

Playoffs LeBron always gives you a shot, but as a team, they just don't look good, at all. Lue has utterly failed to develop a cohesive rotation.
Lue is fucking useless. This team keeps blowing leads, getting tired, giving up runs...LBJ is in beast mode and Love tried to help, but the guys off the bench are marginal at best.

Our bench was never developed properly. We should have signed lance over derrick, just to keep lance off the pacers..Derrick will never see the floor for us..We cant even play Shump, because we have no offensive sets for him.

All Lue has done all year is ride Kyrie and Lebron!
He hasnt developed anybody. Deron and Korver look good because they are vets and know how to create their own shots. Luckily they didnt need Lue.

Told y'all the Pacers are a tough matchup. PG is a killer.

Honestly there aren't many playoff contending teams in the East that aren't tough matchups for the Cavs. The Pacers are probably a good starting point for the Cavs to figure out how to play D before the tests get harder. I kind of laugh at PG saying he needs to take the last shot. The Cavs had JR on him then brought Lebron to double 10 feet from the 3 point line. They will let anyone else on the Pacers take a game winning shot other than PG. Now if the Celtics had pulled of a trade for PG I would be scared of the ECF. IIRC game 1 with the Pistons was close last year, then none of the games were really in question after that. The Pacers are better than the Pistons, but PG doesn't have much help. The Cavs have at least 2 guys I don't mind trying to create with the game on the line and they go at least 5 deep with guys I don't mind taking a wide open last second shot. Lebron played 42 minutes, but those aren't the same type of minutes that he put in against the Warriors a couple years ago. He didn't even try to get anything for himself in the first quarter. PG on the other hand spent 41 minutes playing like 2015 Finals Lebron and I don't think he can keep that up.

Was Shump hurt or is he just unplayable right now? If it's #2 that is going to cost us later in the playoffs.

Shump gets blown by too much defensively and cant create anything offensively. Hes only good if his mid range jumper is falling. He cant drive to the rim or cut in the passing lanes. Hes gone this offseason.

The cavs were actually just as inconsistent in the finals last year. Got blown out one game then destroyed GS the next. I think this jeckle and hyde thing is just in their dna or something. Also I love seeing Lebron pace himself. Smart man.

Yeah the Cavs are better with Lebron on the floor regardless if he is giving 110%. If he can play 42, but rest for 4-5 while on the floor it's a good trade-off. He's probably the only player in the league where that is the case.

Well, grinded out another win after almost letting the Pacers back in it in the 4th quarter as the pitiful defense reared its ugly head. Big night from the Big 3 and a nice contribution from DWill off the bench, but not much from anyone else. I'll never write of a team with LeBron, but there are SERIOUS flaws on this team. If they win a title, it'll be by sheer force of will from LeBron, Kyrie, and Kev (who had an excellent game tonight).

I don't know. GS and the Spurs look tough again, and the Cavs don't look anywhere near as cohesive as last year. Last year, they were steamrolling through the East in April and May. I'm not optimistic this year as last. There's no great teams in the East, so maybe they get through, but they struggled with a lot of these teams during the season.

Too many turnovers last night. Game would have been put to bed a lot earlier had they not been so sloppy with the ball (LeBron especially).

Good win nonetheless. When you look at the other two teams in the top 3 of the East, heading on the road with a 2-0 series lead feels good. Now the guys get two days off to rejuvenate and hopefully put themselves in a position to end this thing on Sunday.

Yeah it seemed like every time they looked primed for a run someone (usually LeBron) would throw the ball away and the Pacers would get a fast break.

They're still giving a regular season effort on the defensive end. Somebody blows by Kyrie on the way to the rim on nearly every play. Another Cav is forced to give help, leaving their man open, and then it's just a matter of making a pass under the basket and getting a wide-open dunk. As a few here have already said, the East is bad again this year. I think Washington would give them the hardest time (Wall will drive on Kyrie on every possession), but unless they play the Wizards, they aren't going to have to turn it on defensively before playing GS/SA/HOU.

If it is in fact Golden State, like we all expect, they're going to need to adjust beforehand. Last year they went down 3-1 before adjusting to the effort level needed to beat the Warriors. They won't have that luxury this year. If they aren't ready to go defensively by game 1, it'll be a short series. Golden State is too good.

LeBron said the team is nearly firing on all cylinders after last night's win. I hope he doesn't believe that. If they gave up 111 to Paul George and a group of mediocre/bad offensive players, they'll give up 160 to the Warriors.

LeBron probably sees the high turnover numbers (8 by him iirc) and thinks if they clean those up it's a blowout. I half agree with him, but the do need better effort on d across the board. A lineup with LeBron, TT, and Shump isn't going to work on offense unless Shump hits some shots.

The bolded was the one issue that did stand out...much better on defense and rebounding was really good, but they need to value their possessions more.
