Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Cavs will make their run but they need to do some addition by subtraction if they want to win the East let alone the NBA Championship. At most positions, they are older and slower than most, thus the reason they suck at defense. I like the idea of the trade with the Clippers. TT, JR, and another player (Frye) for Jordan straight up. Can't justify anymore if its for a half-season rental. Give more minutes to Osman and Zizic to get them ready for the post-season. Right now, this team will not make it out of the East as is.

Trading for Jordan would do absolutely nothing to cure the Cavs problems.

The Ringer has us selecting Mikal Bridges with Brooklyn's pick. We need an excellent 3-and-D player or four to slot in next to LeBron, Thomas, and Love. Unfortunately, they're still in high demand, and perhaps the least abundant player type around right now. We also have nothing to offer teams outside of the Brooklyn pick. Nobody wants overpaid underperformers like JR, Thompson, or Shumpert on their team.

This roster is stuck in limbo, and unless we get some crazy unexpected contribution from someone like Osman, we're not making it out of the East. Boston is probably better than we are, and I suspect Gordon Hayward will be back in time for the playoffs. Even if we do make it out of the East, Golden State or Houston would beat us in four or five.

I can't understand why we continue to try to outscore Golden State. They have too many shooters and are too good down the stretch defensively to beat that way, but that won't stop us from trying it yet again.

I guess that's probably the only option we have with this roster, though. No matter how bad that strategy is, it's our only chance.
