Cleveland Browns (official thread of Masochism 2015)

Not gonna happen. Pettine has said as much that he would be making most of the same calls that O'Neil has.

As for who made the calls on the #1 picks? We all know whose hand it was with Johnny. As for Gilbert? I truly do believe that was Farmer and Pettine.

Jury is still out on Shelton. Erving? I'm still not sure why we went Oline in the 1st round.
I understand why they went Oline, because Schwartz and Mack are likely gone. However, selecting a vertical player might have helped.

Upon further review, I do not see how Haslam can let Farmer go and keep Pettine unless he thinks some GM is going to want to take that job with someone else's HC. A new GM will want to hire his own HC but maybe Haslam is too dumb to realize that.

Also, I guess it will not matter if they keep O'Neil if Pettine is retained because big Mike will just run the same defense since it is his defense anyways.

Keeping O'Neil would be mind boggling.

I'm on board to sack Farmer/O'Neil and keep Pet/Flip. Not the ideal HC but we won't find anyone better at the moment and continuity might be more helpful to the young guns at this point (especially for Johnny Cocaine)

I do not think that Pet will stay if Haslam tells him that he has to get rid of O'Neil because they go waaay back. If he will not accept that, I would let him go in a heartbeat also.
I think they have to draft a QB someplace in the first three rounds because Johnny has a very bad problem that a treatment center could not even cure. I like his enthusiasm and how he plays the game but he has to be a professional off the field and I do not think it is ever going to happen.

It may sound bad but I really don't care what he does off the field as long as he is producing on it. Now he hasn't earned the cushion guys like Gronk or Brady have but I think we should give him one more year if not only for the reason that this draft is TERRIBLE for QB prospects.

At the same time, if he is working with his third OC in as many years than what's the fucking point? Any sliver of a chance of him turning out good will have probably been squandered by all parties involved. A young QB needs environment as much as he needs skill. Johnny didn't set himself up to succeed but it feels like the Browns have botched it too (for the N'th time).

Sure we can overreach for Geoff or grab one of the other misfits in the second round but they're going to come to a team with no running game, shit receivers, an overpaid defense, and an overall circus in the FO. Do we really expect the results to be any different?

No one here deserves to keep their job (QB, GM, DC, HC, ect) but at this point continuity may be the only hope we have. The future looks bleak for sure. I guess I'd rather gamble on a former Heisman than a cali kid who wasn't as good of a college player. Maybe the Browns will relocate and I can stop giving a fuck!

Well, we sort of tried the latter when the fucker took the team to Bmore. I think that they should just can the whole bunch and start all over. If we could get another second-round draft choice and Connor Cook(see Cousins) was available, I would take a flyer on him. The problem with Johnny partying all the time is that he needs to be studying as others have pointed out to me. Partying can also have been the reason he was so "tired" in the fourth quarter of the Kansas City game. I just do not want big Mike back next year and I do not want Farmer either. Just read that the other big Mike H could be a candidate for the 49ers job. @NFBuck

Homgren is mentioned everytime the Niners job opens up. Not happening. One, because it looks like Tomsula is likely getting another year because the duo of fuckcobs in charge (York/Baalke) don't want to admit what an absolute disaster he's been, and two, because Holmgren's ego could never coexist with said fuckcobs.

So, Johnny Goodtimes hitting the 4 Loko on Christmas Eve. They need to just cut their losses with this clown before the inevitable DUI. It's obvious he's never going to grow up, and if you can't keep your dumb ass off social media when pounding ghetto juice, you're probably too dumb to be making millions of dollars for being a poor man's Mike Vick.

There are at least a couple NFL owners who also own franchises in other professional sports: Paul Allen & the Pegulas. I believe they have to be in the same market, or in a market that the NFL does not already have a team in.
I thought Paul Allen had that going in Seattle but maybe one of the teams he isn't majority

yall are correct. I guess it was Kronke (sp?) Rams/nuggets/Avs owner i was thinking..
