Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

Well, who coulda seen hiring a guy that had been a journeyman position coach before last season because your rookie QB liked him would be a bad idea? Clowns gonna clown.

Greeaaaat. So they will be 2-5 heading to Denver...so I imagine that will be a must-win to finish the season. So they go 2-6, fire Freddie, have some interim coach go 6-2 against teams with no pulse, then fire that guy to do a “full search” to get some other clueless fuck who will need 2-3 years to install his system, even if he isn’t a brainless fuckwit.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

It's the clowns. If you couldn't see this coming, you haven't been paying attention for the last two decades...

You know this is all gonna come crashing down HARD.

I’m gonna go ahead and call bullshit on the Clayton stuff. No doubt Kitchens has struggled thus far but I’ll be absolutely stunned if he isn’t given at least another season. The team will be getting into the leaner portion of their schedule after the Patriots game and we could easily see a promising turnaround.

It's a no-win situation with Freddie.

Either they tank hard and finish 5-11/6-10 and can him, or they perk up against the softer schedule beginning in November, which proves little. They're a poorly coached team, and Freddie looks like he's in waaaaay over his head.

If this team doesn't cut out the lousy, undisciplined play quickly and decisively, they need to cut their losses. There's too much talent on this team to waste two years on a lousy coach.

What has Freddie shown you in the first games of this season that has shown he has a grasp on being not ONLY an NFL head coach but also the Play Caller.

Look woulda loved for Freddie to work out... like i said he’s from my home town... but they need to cut their loses soon rather than later... including trading OBJ

Never thought this was a good pickup and said so when it happened. Took a lot crap at the time.

They need to see if they can save Baker. Right now his throws are all over the place and it isn’t all the lines fault.
Baker reverting to the walk on that Ryan gosling wouldn’t give a scholarship to. Or maybe he’s been this bad all along and just got lucky for 2 years

I don’t think he’s bad at all. Watch some of him last year, there is genuine talent there. This year, he’s just playing to reckless, probably trying too hard to make something happen.

I still think he has a lot of Brett Favre (good and bad) in him. Interestingly enough, go look at Favre’s stats; After a promising first year (I’m not counting his cup ‘o coffee with the Falcons), he regressed badly in year two (3300 yds, 19 td, 24 int).

Now, I’M NOT SAYING HE’S BRETT FAVRE, just that the style of play is similar. I still think he’ll end up being a really good qb, but right now his coaching staff is killing him, his OL isn’t doing him any favors and he’s pressing.

See, here's my thing. Mayfield has how many starts now? 18? And I think if we look back at a lot of second year QB's, this isn't uncommon. Favre also sat a year before that (just because you brought it up) too... So it's tough, is it him, is it kitchens - and he's learning (I hope too), and of course the only part of the team they didn't upgrade was the O-line...

The weird part is, it's not like kitchens is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, first game shit all around, penalties all that.... Write it off. Then a few games where they think they're just better and try to control it... Works against the jets, fails against the Rams. Ok. Go a little more aggressive against the Ravens, stop.forcing the ball, let Mayfield do his thing ... Works pretty well... Go to SF, alright they're a runaway train right now (and everyone they have to play are worried about nickel base defenses and their small fast linebackers) ok, write that off too. Then keep up the aggression against Seattle, works till they go full stupid in game management at the end of the first half, and let Seattle back in the game, and still could have won with only 3 turnovers and a blocked punt...

All of which to say is,. Maybe beating up on the back half.of the schedule really does say something. Theres winning games and still doing dumb shit... And then theres winning games and actually getting better... If you keep doing the same dumb shit in game management and mental errors, you can see that regardless of record.

I dunno if I like Freddie or not, but there are things to measure here. And honestly one of them is what happens after a bye week against New England. If it's a SF repeat.... Probably not good. If it looks more like Seattle with less dumb shit ... Better sign. I'm not looking for moral victories, I'm looking for better football. (and a new offensive line)
