Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield playing with partially torn labrum, source says

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has been playing with a partially torn labrum in his left shoulder, a source confirmed to ESPN on Thursday.

Mayfield suffered the injury to the non-throwing shoulder on Sept. 19 while trying to make a tackle against the Houston Texans, and has been wearing a shoulder harness since.

“It’s nice when you can play around 50-percent completion (percentage), which is just terrible, and then to have a win on the road in a hostile environment against a good team,” Mayfield said. “So, yeah, that’s nice knowing that we have that. But there’s still a standard that I try and set for myself and try to hold myself accountable to. So I need to do that.”

Mayfield revealed that he has been wearing a brace on his left shoulder for the injury he sustained in the team’s Week 2 win over the Houston Texans, but he noted the brace is not to blame for any errant passes. He also does not think the accuracy issues are linked to his footwork.

“No, I think my footwork was clean," Mayfield said. "It’s just about making the plays when they’re there. I really don’t think it’s that complicated. Everybody’s going to try to make an excuse — I pretty much hit on it after the game. I’ve just got to make the damn play. It’s that simple.”

I got a real bad feeling about the Browns game tomorrow. 3rd string LT against Bosa, with Baker already hurt, is a recipe for disaster. LAC new coach is off to a hot start and Herbert is lighting it up. With as much as the Browns passing offense struggled last week, this looks like a game that the Chargers are a lock to win. Hope I'm wrong.

I see what you are doing here. And it just might work. Browns have no chance.

Browns historically haven't played well on the west coast. Toss in the oline being beaten up with Bakers issues and it's not a promising combination.

But if Chubb and Hunt get 20 carries each while the defense picks up where it left off, then they have a shot.

I'm very high on the Chargers, I had this game as one of the losses when I went through the Browns' schedule (had the Browns going 12-5, so I'm high on them too). West coast thing is big, like you said. Herbert is also the real deal and they've beaten some good teams.

Probably most noteworthy, Derwin James is healthy. He's a monster.

Nasir and Derwin might be the most underrated safety duo in the NFL. I have LAC -2

edit: Watching this GB - CIN game. Cincy has the makings of a really good team. I honestly believe, if Burrow and Mixon can stay healthy along with some small Oline improvements, that they're as much a complete team as CLE... maybe more.

Credit stef and co. The Bolts aren't good against the run, by personnel and design.
They're committing to the running game and opening up the screens.

I still have PTSD from 20 years of bad coaching, but this staff is slowly gaining my trust.
