Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

Latter would be too slow. Imagine all the delay of games
First, it was a joke.
Second, if doesn't have to be "too slow". Those 100 people (or 1000 or 12 or whatever the number is) get a sheet of 100 plays. Maybe it's online. Anyway, you have plays to run up the middle, run right, right left, a bunch of pass plays, etc. After every play, you have until the playclock says :35 to pick a play. Text in "77" or "33" or whatever. Whatever the software is tallies all the votes and before the clock says :33 it spits out the answer. The magic is throwing the play to the QB before the clock is at :30.
This only works for offense. If you tried to do it on defense, the opposing team would know that a hurry-up will destroy them.
It also doesn't work for any type of 2-minute hurry-up offense.
You also still need to give the QB a chance to audible.
Most importantly, this is a stupid idea because who are we - 99 other idiots and me - to think we know how to call plays better than the previous Browns coaches? (Don't answer that.)

That's the one good thing they had. I don't think Schwartz would have been a good HC, but he's a helluva DC and at least fielded a competent unit. Now you have a goober HC (who nobody had pegged as a HC) who has to replace a very good DC. This organization is such a shit show it's almost impossible to fathom the scope of their dysfunction.

Right, JFC should’ve hired Schwartz

Classic Browns….Hell keeping Stefanski was a better option

That's what I've been saying from the beginning. There was no chance of getting a better coach than Stefanski, and the worst-case scenario is Stefanski starts winning in Atlanta to make the Browns look even worse. I'm sure Schwartz is upset he didn't get the job, but I'm wondering if he's using the Garrett playbook from last year where he's under contract but is pissing and moaning until they give him a new deal to continue doing his job.

I'm not of the collective mindset here laughing at a Monken hire.

Not as an offensive mind, anyway. He turned the Ravens offense into a top 6 unit his 1st season there. Helped pave the way for Lamars most efficient & healthy season as a QB. That was while his best skill players were Mark Andrews and a rookie Zay Flowers.

He has a pretty quality track record of improving offenses his last 10 years.

- Jameis Winston was actually a solid player and not a turnover machine for the 3 years he was in Tampa.

- He saved Freddie Kitchens from himself while trying to turn Baker into a consistent vertical passer.

- Made Stetson Bennett and the Georgia offense an efficient machine.

It isn't the 'splash' name or the fancy young kids that everyone thinks will be the next Sean McVay. And that's where I think the backlash is coming from.
