But if anybody thinks he's an upgrade over Baker, they're sorely mistaken. Yes, the Niners reached a SB with him. But they did so with a savage defense and unbelievably potent running game. I'd argue they got that far in spite of Jimmy. Not to mention the fact he was injured in 3/4 full seasons he was in the Bay Area.

The injuries are what make me less than enthusiastic. Baker almost died last year, and Jimmy seems to have a bit of a brittle body.

Jimmy is...shall we say...injury prone, yes. Even when he's not hurt, he's a good, not great QB. That's exactly what you already have. Like Baker, he'll make some plays that will make you say "this guy's alright!", then he'll toss a maddening INT. He's never been a great 4th quarter QB. A knock on Mayfield is the lack of the "clutch gene." Well, Jimmy G is no upgrade in that department.

Kyle Shanahan’s biggest accomplishment is making Jimmy G look like a competent QB. He is average.. at best. Tap him on the shoulder too hard and he’s on IR for half the season too.

Can’t stay healthy.. check
Bad in late-game situations.. check
Bad in most other situations.. check
Count on a bad turnover every single game.. check

Jimmy G is a less durable Baker.

Minshew > Jimmy G and I say that with no sarcasm.

Feels to me like we are already well on our way to another high pick.

There is no situation they can't fuck up. There is no bottom to this abyss. I don't know if it's a lack of luck, stupidity, a conspiracy, supernatural events or what, but there is something going on. No one could be this disfunctional by accident.
