Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

I just don't understand why we looked so bad in the first half. Hell, if we played even decent in the first we win this game.

On a positive note for a lot of you, Hoyer looked really good today overall. So that's good news for all the anti-Manziel guys out there and especially on this site lol.

Maybe Jerry will give us the Cowboys first rounder for him next year. Hopefully the second half was what the Browns will look like this year. OL and RB's look good.

Cundiff has many kicks over 50, he has hit 56 yds twice, and last year with this team he hit a 51 yd kick. The winds were calm even the announcer stated so.

So disagree with me all you want, but exactly what I said would happen did, and you cannot say with the facts I have proven that it's "retarded" or whatever else you guys have said. Question it sure, but there is definitely a solid case for why they should have went.

If you want to be factually accurate, the following is true:
the official yardage on the field goal was 53 yards.
The longest fg EVER made at Heinz field is 52 yards
Billy cundiff, for his career, is 7 of 28 on fgs of 50+ yards.

So it's not that there is an argument to not kick the fg, it would have been beyond stupid to actually try it.

Remember, this is coming from the same troll that wanted to fire Matta and decided to go over the top in his support of Johnny FUBAR on draft day.

Browns with 3 RB's that had more yards and double the average of Richardson. What were we thinking. :shake:

Best move Banner made was somehow unloading that turd for a first round pick. I wonder if one of these slot dots can play triple option QB.

Ehh. I do honestly believe Brown didn't intend to drop Lanning. Now, do I think he has shitty hops? Yep. Even though he might play for that shitty team, I can't recall hearing a bad word about the kid.

Obviously Brown's intention and the resulting play might conflict this. As you see Lanning go low, he's got to stay low and either for the runner over him or catch his legs. Basically its a combination of a half ass tackle (excusable since its your punter) and a half ass jump.

That said - got to watch some of the replays. Boy does Kruger look like a totally different player, I give serious props to Pettine for that turn around. While I doubt he keeps averaging 2 sacks a game, he routinely brought pressure, spun off the tackle for some good stops against the run and was overall starting to show why the FO paid him. If he keeps this up you might see some type of trade involving Sheard.

As for the interior line. I don't like how Billy Winn bulked up. He seems to have lost a stop from a guy that was a high motor player. The Dline seemed to just dance with their man as opposed to pushing them back. Some of those runs from Bell were unacceptable. I do believe Armonty should be getting more playing time on the interior in passing situations. His speed off the edge on the 3 down looks gives tackles fits, I can only assume it would do the same against some guards. Prime example, look how effective a pairing Aldon Smith and Justin Smith are. That's a DT that gets great push up front and lets the QB go nowhere.

I can only hope we get good A gap pressure on Brees, that's about the real effective way to beat him. Because as it stands right now, this secondary sure as shit going to have a hard time with Cooks. But the Saints a very beatable team.

Intent - He has blockers to his left and his right to make cuts.. he altered course to confront Lanning...
If you are hurdling someone, your leg is extended
If you are kicking someone, your leg is retracted so you can execute force on impact

He has Dray to his immediate right, so he isn't going that way. Yeah, he probably could have cut left.
Looks like his leg was extended pretty much the entire time. If anything he mis-timed the jump.

I'm the last thing from a Steelers fan, but I doubt Brown was running down the field thinking he was going to drop kick anyone. Again, that doesn't mean he didn't. I do expect a fine. Suspension? Nope.

Even if he did intend to kick him, come on' - we're talking about the Steelers, those bitches hardly receive fair punishment.

No it wasn't, 35 + 10 + 7 is 52 yds.

In other words you are saying a FG that far has been made there before, Billy has had 7 FG's over 50 before, he has made 56 yds a few times, and all proof it could very well been made... so therefore it makes sense to give it a shot.

Yes, it's stupid to try and win, it always work out so much better playing not to lose... which we did. Pittsburgh faked a punt well on their own side of the field, the percentages don't say that it was wise, but they did and it worked beautifully. See that's what happens with you play with some balls.

In the NFL, if you don't have a kicker that has the ability to hit a 52 yd FG now and again, then you have a problem.

Pittsburgh had a gunner completed uncovered. That's a sight adjustment 100% of the time regardless of field position.
