Just had another thought if they could pull the trade down to pick up the 2nd round pick and fill OLB or CB with a FA. How awesome would the OL be if they could somehow get Chance Warmack in the first round? Thomas, Warmack, Mack, a sack of potatoes, and Schwartz would be the best OL in the NFL.

Trading down for Warmack is plausible...Typically guards don't go in the top 10...They normally go in the 15 to 25 range....if we fill our need at CB in free agency then I am on board with trading down and taking warmack if we can get back in the second round in doing so....that being said we would have to also fill our pass rushing LB need via free agency as well...Should be interesting to see the least...

I like it, but I think Boren will be there in the 6th so they could use that pick on a high risk/high reward guy like Mathieu or a QB if there is someone they like.

Of course if the Browns draft plays out anything like it usually does they will draft a bunch of guys I've never heard of that have never been mentioned in this thread.

Tyrann Mathieu is one failed drug test away from being a failed draft pick. no way in hell do the Browns take him anywhere before the 4th round and I doubt even then, as they'll be drafting camp fodder at that point.

Pick 6 isn't BPA, it'll be the best fit for the defense since that is what this draft is very heavy on. Chances are it'll be Milliner. After that point, you fill holes with the picks they have after that, especially on the O-line is the value is there.

They'll be more active than last year in FA, but don't expect them to use more than $20 million of that cap space.

I will be very disappointed, as will many Browns fans, if they only use $20 mil of their cap space. I know that they don't have to use the entire close to $50 mil until 2016 but all contracts are not guaranteed money so certain guys will be released over the next 3 years which will just free up money unless I do not understand the CBA and how it works with regard to the cap.

I understand that they want to build through the draft but if they can find some quality free agents that are only 26-27 years old I would have no problems in signing them or even signing one or two guys a little bit older.

Haslam has talked out of both sides of his mouth with regards to how he wants to make this team competitive quickly. He cannot do that just by drafting players. He needs to tell his boys that they need to find some quality free agents and get this team better quickly or he is going to start losing his fan base just like Lerner.

I did not say to spend it all. I am just saying that $20 mil is a little low compared to what they have available. They have plenty of money to extend contracts. The only guys worth extending this year might be Ward and Haden. Even you said that there was no reason to extend Mack this year because centers are pretty easy to come by.

My point was that over the next 3-4 years guys will be cut by the Browns that will free up more money and everything has to be spent within the next four years or you will lose it. If they don't spend between 25-30 mil this year on free agents, I will be very disappointed.

I agree with this. I think a couple key FA's and a strong draft along with the better coaching could put the Browns in a position to challenge for the AFC North.

Of course that's a lot of what ifs for it to actually happen, but the aspect that I'm least worried about is the coaching. I think they hit a home run with the new coaching staff.

So, long story short, of Litl's 50 million, they probably will spend 25 million of that.

Every mock draft I've seen (save one dude smoking silly weed who has us taking the WR from Tennessee at 6) has either Milliner, Jones, Moore from A&M, or Mingo (which I don't think will happen). So it appears everyone thinks defense, which is good. Whatever they don't draft high, they should try and sign somebody good. So, a corner or a rusher. Other than that, I don't see a reason to break the bank with any FAs.
