Cleveland Browns (2013 Season)

I will say, they're not that far off at this point...Hoyer showed, if nothing else, what this team can do with even mostly competent QB play.

That's exactly it. I mean, the really good thing about Weeden's performance yesterday is, that despite what may appear to be not horrible stats, he sucks balls. (I mean, if he doesn't throw that last pick, and they punt, he's got what? almost 300 yards and 2 TD's, 1 INT... ) But, what's unforgettable, is his ability to go full fucking retard in anything resembling crunch time. (don't forget the scoop forward fumble he was trying to get as an incomplete pass that would have been intentional grounding - well I assume and if there happened to be a receiver there, I missed it). I realize that full fucking retard is over used and may seem like hyperbole... but, I really think this is full fucking retard, with a bow on top.

So, I think really, what we all need to do is rest easier, because any idiot should be able to see that they can't go forward with this chump.

They just had Chud's presser...every time someone tried to ask him about how much Weeden sucked this game, he kept trying to go back to last week and say he played better in the Buffalo game. He also said he will not change QBs, and that there was no discussion of even doing so. Mary Kay kept trying to bring up the QB...at least she didn't start quoting Blackmon's stats this week though

I just don't know what you're gonna find out about Weeden that you don't already know... he's not getting any better... and we know that this offense can do some things well. So, if you're not gonna play Campbell, fine... why is he here? Sign Matt Flynn... hell... sign David Carr if you want to make sure there's no controversy going forward. At some point you have to actually decide that you're gonna do what you need to do to win and have that be your culture. There's no upside to struggling through this with Weeden... Alright, I don't really mean sign David Carr, but, whatever... if he doesn't throw across the field underhanded... you know... that's probably a win.

Someone actually did ask (and I thought they did a good job in doing so) whether Chud thought Weeden had lost the confidence of the guys in the locker room with his braindead mistakes. He said no, but it wasn't as convincing as it would be if one were talking about a game after Drew Brees threw 5 picks or something. He must think Weeden still gives them the best chance to win. Somebody also asked directly about Campbell (like WTF are you not trying him out for) and he just said he likes him, blah blah blah. Either Campbell must be completely out of gas, or he's been told that Weeden is his guy for the year no matter what so dropping him next year will be easy...or something.

I'd say in light of the "worst pass ever thrown in the history of organized football" they ought to revisit that discussion.
Well that's the thing, apparently there wasn't even a discussion about a change at all after that...which I find hard to believe, but then again I don't (if that makes sense).

Well... maybe they haven't had THAT meeting yet. You know, the Reds were gonna keep Dusty, until they weren't.
