Cleveland Browns (2007 & prior)

Two Players I like the most in the first (Ngata and AJ Hawk) probably wont be available when we pick. Is it possible we go after a DB/S Like a Jimmy Williams or Mike Huff if they are determined to be BPA? RB is possible, but not a position of need or one that i think we we should draft high (maybe in the 2nd/3rd - Addai? from LSU). I don't see us going QB/OL/WR in the first. Defense seems to be the best guess.

I think its only a matter of time at this point......I like Faine but he cannot stay healthy.

Faine just gets pushed back too easily by big DT's, plus he always finishes the year on IR.

besides coleman and andruzzi, hallen and pucillo can both play guard. both can also play center behind bentley. faine appears to be expendable.

the jets didn't resign mawae did they? if not, they could be in the market for a center. cleveland using faine for a trade up in round #2 is possible. I don't know who else is in the market for a starting center.

the rumors about cleveland looking at chris hope leads me to believe that they arent that comfortable with crocker. huff to play safety is possible. He can also play corner if need be, which is valuable, so it's possible. I wouldn't discount the possibility of Broderick Bunkley at #12 to play some 3-4 DE. Just not Greenway.

I wonder how far up the Browns could move if they packaged the #12 pick and Faine? The Jets might be hoping they have a chance at Mangold in the 2nd. Or maybe the Browns could move up their 2nd round pick to a late 1st round pick if they added Faine to the deal. Faine is an NFL starting center and somebody will want him.

They were talking sbout this yesterday on the NFL Network. They were saying that each draft position is assigned a points value. Just to move from the #6 pick to the #2 pick (in the first round), a team would have to GIVE UP their 2nd and 3rd round pick. Way too expensive if you ask me.

That all depends on how desperate a team is to move up or down. If a team really wants to move down they would probably take less. If none of the players the Browns really want are there at 12 I wouldn't mind seeing them drop down to around 20 for an extra second round pick and take Carp. This is the deepest draft that I can remember. After you get out of the top 5 or 6 players dropping 10 picks won't cost you much as far as the player you can get, but getting an extra player in the first 2 rounds would be a big addition IMO.

I completely agree.

I believe the Jets got mawae so I would not count on the Jets going after faine.
