Interesting because Martavis Bryant, Deon Cain, and a half dozen other Clemson players have missed bowl time or NFL time with failed drug tests in the past few years (and Clemson players have an alarmingly high rate of blown out ACLs and MCLs in the NFL in the same time span). But because it's Clemson nobody gives a rats ass.

If one player failed a drug test for an illicit PED in Columbus Marotti and Urban would be crucified in the Oval.

Ok so if it was one random player then maybe a fluke. But when 3 kids test positive, there is definitely smoke, if not fire. This is not something that is legal in any way in the US... The old "someone spiked my drink" excuse that got Arizona basketball star Allonzo Trier off the hook doesn't appear to be feasible.
I say "probably not" because there are some shady supplement companies out there and while it isn't "legal" it's also not difficult to get.

Dabo is on some next level bullshit though.

One of my very good friends is a cyclist, among other things... he and I were having an interesting conversation around Thanksgiving about supplements and how dirty that business is. That said, he shared that anyone who gets caught in this day and age pretty much either didn’t know what they were taking (stupid and / or lazy) or didn’t give a shit about being caught ‘...and to thank the cycling world for that...’ Basically, with the testing that is done in cycling, and the compounds available today, it’s pretty easy math when it comes to pissing clean because the metabolism schedules are well known for for these compounds. As such, if you piss hot, you’re not paying attention (or your guy is reeeeeally bad at the maths) or you don’t GAF.

My guess is that doping is happening pretty much everywhere... and these guys had a supplement with some stuff that they didn’t know about or realize the concentrations. Which, frankly, falls on ‘their guy’ for not being on top of what they were taking.

I should note, ‘their guy’ may or may not be dirty per se. He may be charged with approving what they are taking... and that’s it... it may not be the case that he’s engaging in nefarious acts... but my money is on a bit of nefariousness.

It will be interesting to see how the B samples test.

"... We're going to do everything we can to figure out if it is in the system. Heck, I don't know. I mean, who's to say that it is there? I mean, that's what we're being told, but there's -- they all will have legal representation, and there will be a process to go through to find out."

To translate - who are the NCAA testers to say that my guys are actually using PED's? In the end how can they really be sure if they don't see the players taking them?

I know it's Christmas but I hope Dabo burns for this one. I hope a scheme is uncovered and it brings down the coaches, staff, AD and then a suspension of the football program itself.

Be careful what you wish for. While Dabo may be the first to get attention here, he’s not the only one at his level involved... and who knows how far it goes. There’s no difference between what was going on in the late ‘80 and now, other than the sophistication of and knowledge regarding these compounds. To suggest this is a Clemson / Dabo thing, alone, is pretty short sighted.

I can't speak for @Buckeneye but to me it has nothing to do with PEDS.

I want to see the media treat a southern darling, that's on the payroll as it were, the same way they would treat OSU.....and when I say media you know what organization drives that particular short bus.

That said, I also want to bang Jessica Alba and have a feeling that may happen before ESPN ever gives an SEC school or Clemson the OSU treatment.

Oh, I’m right there with you. But you know the saying, ‘third on a match?’

1 - Dabo
2 - Bama
3 - ???

I don’t want to be 3.
