Clemson football fills offensive, defensive coordinator roles by promoting Brandon Streeter, Wes Goodwin

Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney is promoting from within to fill his offensive and defensive coordinator positions.

Swinney announced Tuesday that senior defensive assistant Wes Goodwin will move to defensive coordinator and that safeties coach Mickey Conn will take on a co-defensive coordinator's role. Goodwin will be the primary playcaller on defense, replacing Brent Venables, who left to take the Oklahoma head-coaching job.

Quarterbacks coach Brandon Streeter is being elevated to offensive coordinator. He replaces Tony Elliott, who left to take the Virginia head-coaching job. In addition, Kyle Richardson is moving into an on-field role as tight ends coach and passing game coordinator.

Swinney said he did not interview any external candidates for the roles.

"I'm always going to promote from within, when it's feasible," he said. "I've hired people from all kinds of places, but I'm going to hire the best person. I'm not going to hire what other people want me to do, I'm going to hire who's best for this university, for me and for this team."

The best part about his nonsensical, bullshit, self righteous outrage might be his new found focus on academics.

We all know how hard it is to get into Clemson and what a prestigious school it is so I can understand how some of that upstate South Carolinian academic snobbishness rubbed off on 'ol Dabo.

:slappy:

C'mon man. Now you are going to cry about academics? At fucking Clemson?
