Clemson 7, VIRGINIA TECH 24 (final)

Things may have jsut taken a bad turn for Clemson.

Davis came in a 50:50 proposition.
On the last running play Spiller looked like he was revving the engine for a full-blown sprint around the end. Then he holds up and doesn't look 100%. He is back on the field now after getting sideline atention, but not a good turn.

So much for the bad turn.

Clemson has burned all 3 TOs in the first half of the first quarter. But, on the drive they capped it off with a TD on Davis' carry.

If VT doesn't answer should the Hokies officially be declared Turkeys?

In my view the whole set of troubles Clemson had this half goes back to burning all 3 TOs in the first 7 minutes of the first quarter.

On the road, in the noisy night atmosphere of Blacksburg, those TOs should be meted out carefully.

Without the ability to take a TO and regroup Clemson was unable to make any substantial adjustments within a drive. Frankly, they are lucky to be going in at HT with a mere 3 point difference - and they should treat that as good news. Couple the inability to adjust with some pretty poor play calling against a stacked box by Clemson and they have their worst rushing and pretty poor passing totals.

I suspect the first instruction to the QB is to not take a TO needlessly. The OC should be given a shot of Java to wake up.
