Way to throw your kicker under the bus on national TV Kelly :shake:. Though I guess to his credit that was a bad kick.

Kelly, isn't it part of a coach's job to know how far his kicker can make it, depending on the game conditions?

Him blaming the kid was classless. It showed a lack of character, simliar to other coaches we've seen in the Midwest lately.

After throwing his kicker under the bus, I'm starting to notice that there isn't much of a difference (maybe a few pounds) between Kelly and Weis.

You could throw RR in that group also, even though there is no ND connection, he still throws his players under the bus for all of scUMs ills.

Lewis has 29 carries. If he gets 29 more he'll tie the NCAA record of 58 in a game. He just might get it as long as Pitt has the lead, and his body holds up.

This is where good coaching can make a difference, with halftime adjustments and settling a team down. Pitt was in a zone there and just blew up after the kickoff return.

The stache needs to settle them down and come out and score on the first possession. They need to firmly get the momentum back.

What did Kelly say? I turned it over the the basketball game and missed it

Something to the effect of "If you can't kick it that far, tell me and we'll throw one into the end zone. Don't tell me you can make it. Just a kid trying to get on the field."
Hmmm...

Is there any real difference between Kelly and Weiss (other than 200lbs)? Or are they both arrogant, pass-first, ignore-the-running-game-because-I'm-a-genius, don't-worry-about-the-defense guys?
I wonder if ND is watching...?

this is what you get with Brian Kelly...refusal to run the football in goal line situations and poor defense. If ND really wantes Brian Kelly, they should have never fired the fat burger.

And, to think, so many people were saying it would be tough to find someone who understands the tradition!

I love it

Is this Kelly's halftime speech?

Humor aside, I have two thoughts.

First, Pitt has a lot to do to win this game. They need to control the clock by running the ball effectively. Cincy can come back from two TDs down quickly with this offense. It is important to keep scoring.

Second, if this continues, I don't believe that Kelley will be the next coach at ND. They had to be concerned after the game last week. This half exposed his coaching terribly.
