The walked seven straight batters thing is really impressive. With that lack of control you’d think there’d be a HBP in there to break up the streak.

I'd have to see what qualifying filters they put on it but for reference, here are the Reds "hitters" by wRC+ for the season.

(for those unfamiliar, wRC+ accounts for ballpark and sets average to 100 so an 80 is 20% below average, a 120 is 20% above average)

So yes, K Hayes is 83% worse than average.

I count 11 guys with negative offensive value, 8 with negative defensive value and 6 with negative WAR.

The collapse this year was all about just how bad the rest of the roster is because there is a core of legitimate talent but it's surrounded by guys who are sub replacement level.

I saw this one for players with more than 150 plate appearances. 5 of the 6 worst hitters in baseball. :slappy:
