If you were asking me for the Reds' ideal offseason within the parameters of being at least somewhat realistic, I'll go with trading for Tyler Glasnow, signing Eduardo Rodríguez and signing one of the possible DHs mentioned here. They can pull all of this off with prospect currency and by spending money that they can absolutely afford to spend.

Yeah, the HR/9 figure in 2023 is about a third of what it had been previously. His K/9 numbers were also well off his historical norm. BABIP was 100 points less than in 2022 despite the EV, hard hit %, and flyball % ALL being up.

That looks to me like a guy who had a ton of luck in 2023 and is about to get rocked in GABP. I hope I'm wrong.

(and the guy apparently developed a splitter last year and that could explain the whole thing) :biggrin:

It would be great if one of those young starters wanted to stay in the bigs bad enough to become our next Scott Sullivan and pitch his ass off in long relief this year. Maybe a year of that and into the rotation the next year if we could swing it. A guy like Williamson if we can find an Ace would be great in that role imo.

I’d like to see Lodolo give it a shot. He can’t seem to hold up the pounding of a starter but he could be a dominant back end of the pen guy.

On this line…

Hunter Greene best unfuck himself and start using more than 2 pitches or he’s just a reliever.

A lot of moving parts with this roster. I’m still somewhat hopeful.

Knowing I’ll regret it.

I'd bet you could make Lyon Richardson the fourth in that deal and get it done and the Reds could afford to part with him having Phillips ready to get more time in the bigs this season and the amount of youth already on the roster. Call em up Jax and get it done!
