Cincinnati Reds 2023 (sell the team Bob)

Speaking of needing a day off, I do t know that Diaz is the right call here. He’s seen a lot of pitches the past few days.

You are in the real soft spot of their order. Surely someone else can get three weak hitters out.
I don't think Diaz's slider has the nasty movement it did until a few weeks ago. He blew Friday's save and I fear we might see him get knocked around a lot more against the better teams if he doesn't get it back.

Just looked it it. ETA’s is all goes well
-Lively due back before ASB
-Santillan in early July
-Antone later July
-Lodolo and Greene earlier August

The tighter the market looks and the more we can do internally the more comfortable I get with the idea of standing pat pr at least not going crazy at the deadline.

And there's even Gutierrez, who I completely forgot about until reading this injury update. He will throw batting practice on 7/25 and might return to the bullpen sometime this year. Antone will throw batting practice from 7/8 to 7/19.

Sims/Gibaut/Farmer, Young, Law, Antone, Santillan, Diaz = solid bullpen. Add Gutierrez and it's a great bullpen if they can all stay healthy, which is a big IF considering the effectiveness of apparently the Reds physical trainers. :argh:Could maybe even, dare I say it, trade a reliever for a prospect.

I wouldn’t trade anyone unless it’s for a guaranteed Top 50 prospect. We’re gelling a year early and still have more call ups that are currently blocked.

I wouldn’t chase a pennant this year when it’s arguably not in the cards this October. This team is prematurely good, but it’s still very flawed and not winning the World Series this year. Let’s see what we have.

I'm agnostic on the trade; it was just a thought that occurred when I looked at the list of 8 relievers. I wasn't thinking in terms of chasing a pennant but just the sudden wealth in the bullpen.

Anyways I've become more hopeful about getting to the World Series this year since seeing them compete against the Braves, O's and Dodgers. The Braves series could have been won with Lodolo or Greene starting the Sunday game. Haven't played the Dbacks or Giants, so we'll see how that goes. Brewers, ugh, but the Reds have a more dangerous lineup now than when they played them several weeks ago.
