I know this is not a safe space for saying anything positive about the Redlegs but I don't really understand how they got Dietrich for free. Seems like a pretty solid player. (Same thing obviously with Gennett recently)

I don’t know how it all went down but I know that the Reds don’t get anything for free. I also know that if Dietrich starts sucking, that’s gonna cost the Reds a lot when it comes to extending him for another 5 years. It looks like the storm is already brewing. He’s only hitting .200 but he’s getting the attention of the FO enough where he’s about to get paid and he can go ahead and pick whichever plot he wants in a local Cincy cemetery.

Edit: he made the roster after being a non roster invitee in the spring.

It's the ghost of Pete Rose thing.

Any white, scrappy utility player is beloved in Cinci

As CFP noted above, he'll woo the dumbass front office, and the Brennamans, with his plucky attitude just long enough to get an extension right before the wheels come completely off.

These ass clowns aren't working on their 5th consecutive 90+ loss season for nothing.

So Homer Bailey leaves the Reds and reemerges as a useful MLB BOR pitcher.

Puig, Kemp and Wood come to the Reds and become completely ineffective or injured (soon to either be pronounced dead or completely ineffective).

Hmmm

There is only a couple people on the face of this planet who are too stupid to notice the trend. Unfortunately, they are in charge of personnel for a MLB team in Cincinnati.
