CINCINNATI ? The University of Cincinnati is looking into claims made in an anonymous letter that four football players and four recruits engaged in sexual activities with a former soccer player at a party.
"We got an anonymous letter making a number of allegations, and the (university's) office of judicial affairs is looking into those allegations," spokesman Greg Hand said Tuesday, declining further comment.

Accusations to be investigated
Members of football team, recruits allegedly involved
BY BILL KOCH | [email protected]

University of Cincinnati football coach Brian Kelly on Tuesday said allegations that current football players and recruits engaged in sex acts with a former soccer player during a recruiting visit should be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.
"I've been in a college environment long enough to know that any kind of allegations need to be thoroughly looked at," Kelly said. "Everything that I heard should be taken seriously and should be handled by the appropriate people."
The anonymous allegations were brought to the attention of UC President Nancy Zimpher; Daniel Cummins, director of judicial affairs; and Barbara Rinto, director of the UC Women's Center, in a letter that was dated Feb. 14 and signed, "A Concerned Athletic Department Employee."

UC's protocol for recruits clear
BY BILL KOCH | [email protected]

The University of Cincinnati, which is investigating allegations of improper behavior during a recent football recruiting visit, has detailed guidelines "which must be followed on all unofficial visits with an overnight stay initiated by the University of Cincinnati, and all official visits," according to athletic department rules.
The department's policy for official recruiting visits states that "student-hosts cannot arrange and/or use host money for sexual encounters or adult entertainment for prospective student-athletes."
The policy, dated Aug. 7, 2006, also states that "student-hosts cannot consume alcohol or take drugs while performing hosting duties during the official or unofficial visit" and "cannot purchase or provide alcohol or drugs" for a recruit.

Anyone else read this and immediately find themselves wanting to see a pic of this former soccer player?

Yes. I'm not sure what these kids got themselves into and I think its important to withhold judgement until the facts are in.

Yeah, because Cincinnati is known for recruiting high-class upstanding athletes. Of course this looks pretty bad for Dantonio.

Looks like it happened after he was gone...

"Kelly said the UC football program held at least five recruiting weekends leading up to the national signing date, Feb. 7. One occurred the weekend after head coach Mark Dantonio left to accept the Michigan State job Nov. 27 and before Kelly was hired to replace him Dec. 4.
There was one more recruiting weekend in December and three in January."

Well, hopefully that pans out. I'm not a MSU fan but I would like to see Dantonio have success against ND and UM.

from the first linked article:

The Cincinnati Enquirer also was sent a copy of the unsigned letter, which says the sexual activities occurred at an on-campus party during a recruiting visit. Alcohol was served at the party, and the sexual activities were videotaped, according to the letter.

These kids and their videos. :shake:
