Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

At this point just put in Browning so Joe doesn't get hurt again and test out some younger players to see who we want to keep. Of course we won't do that since Taylor knows his job is on the line. We will need to be in burn it to the ground mode asap outside, specifically starting from defense to offense:

- Nobody on the DLs job should be safe outside of Hill and Hendrickson. The rest can go in my books and I hate to say it as a Buckeye owning his Bengals jersey, but that includes Hubbard after this horrible season from him.
- Wilson, Pratt and ADG are victims of a bad defensive front. They have had some shortcomings, but I think that is a good group if you get a proper DL.
- At DB, I'm not sure what to say. I can't think of a single DB I want to keep at this point other than Hilton. Maybe it is just poor coaching but it is at least a combination of bad play there. If we cleaned house there I wouldn't be upset outside of Hilton. And sadly again as a Buckeye, that definitely includes Bell, who appears washed up.
- On offense, Joe is the man. No need to discuss other than keeping him healthy and upright.
- Brown is a really good one and we need to keep him, but we need one more to go with him. Moss ain't it.
- At WR, keep Chase of course and Yosh. Higgins is a diva looking for a bigger check than he deserves and just plays in a game when he wants, he can go. Burton better get his act straight but we'll keep him. Everyone else can walk imo.
- At TE, Mike has been pretty good but we need a long-term option. I don't see it in All, at least not yet. Add that to the shopping list in the Draft.
- At OL, I don't really know tbh. Mims has actually looked good to me for a rookie. Kappa and Karras are fine for 1 more year. Keep Ford for depth. The Browns at LT/RT have served their sentence and can go, always injured but even when healthy I was not impressed.. Volson looks awful and we can cut him away to sea as well. Really need to target a tackle and a guard in the draft.

Tradition: To the Bengals it's wait until the season starts to finally settle signing. As a result of not signing, important people won't be in camp and won't be ready when the season begins. Lose two or three early games because of this. Be cheap as hell. Demand more money from Hamilton County.

That said, three calls/non-calls just before the half handed the Chargers a touchdown. If you think Big 10 reffing sucks, the NFL is worse.

I hear you. My own take is that these guys are just showing up. There's no real path to the payoffs, much less the Super Bowl. Work to remain healthy and develop a "wait till next year" mentality.

If Chase gets a new deal(which he deserves) than the OL will hardly ever be dominant. Another year of mismanagement by the Bengals. Higgins is a very good WR, and better than any WR on the roster outside of Chase, and they're going to let him go for nothing. Another example of poor front office decisions, he couldn't been traded last year for a 2nd round pick and that could've been turned into a young OL or DL. Not signing Chase this past off season will cost the team possibly another $10-15mil, that's just bad business. Yosh is a WR3 at best, if he's the WR2 next year, than I can see a similar season in '25. Bengals fans, you are lucky that Burrow is from Athens, OH and not Athens, GA or Athens, PA, because he'd say F this poverty franchise and want out(just like their last #1 pick franchise QB)

The reffing excuse is so tired and weak, IMO. Every team that plays football at any level can blame refs for every single play. Refs aren't the main reason the Bengals have lost games, they have had bad play calling, time mismanagement, and turnover issues that fans choose to ignore and focus only on the refs. The Chiefs game is a prime example, more attention is focused on the flag at the end of the game, and not the Burrow fumble that had he held on to the ball, they probably would've won or the Chase unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. You can complain about blown calls in the Chargers game, but the defense couldn't stop anything, if they had any sort of pass defense or DL pressure outside of Hendrickson, then they could've won. And we can do this with all their losses. Poorly coached, and even worse execution. I feel bad for Joe, Jamar and Trey, their team failed them

Credit where credit is due - I am impressed with how the Bengals find and develop Tight Ends.
Gesicki is a player. Before him, Hayden Hurst was a great find.

They seem to be content to take guys in FA off the scrap heap and make them into something productive. Thus far, it's worked pretty well.

Admitting that you could have won those games despite bad officiating, but also pointing out the horrific officiating are not mutually exclusive. Piss poor defense and bad coaching are the main culprits. But the refs just made it even harder. And it's not just a campaign against the Bengals, its an epidemic through the entire NFL and seems very much tied to Vegas...really to the point where I think I am truly done watching the NFL altogether.

not buying it. They wasted a second rounder on Drew Sample.

But hasn't there been also terrible officiating in college? Would that make you stop watching the Buckeyes too?
I guess my point is that officiating alone isn't what's losing Bengals games, and they're not the only franchise complaining about it. But if you can't change the refs, you sure as heck can change players, schemes, coaches, etc. And that's where my gripe has always been with the Bengals. FO content with being mediocre because they get paid regardless, and the great players have to waste their careers in obscurity. And this goes back to the early 90s. Bengals strike gold every so often, get complacent and then fall back to mediocre- bad. Rinse, repeat.

I said it four or five three or four years ago when Lamar Jackson was in the draft they needed to pick him up and get rid of barrel barrel done it again choked in a very important game now they're out sitting on the sidelines again Joe Burrell got to go he's too old he don't have the nibbleless to get around on the field to run this is a whole new ball game with the young quarterbacks Joe Burrell don't have it

Does any other city have a pair of owners (NFL & MLB) worse than Mike Brown* and Robert Castellini*?

* they actually don't own the majority of the team but they have total control

Is Mike Brown a billionaire?
Brown is worth $3.9 billion, according to Forbes estimates, and ranked on the list for the first time at 338. Brown is the only Cincinnatian to make the Forbes 400 list, which was released Oct 4, 2024

Is Bob Castellini a billionaire?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Bob Castellini is worth $400 million.

:sad2:
