Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

This fucking FO better pay Chase whatever it takes to get the deal done. They really fucked up not getting a deal done prior to this season. Time to swallow their pride and get it fucking done. Find a way to keep Tee, too. This offense was damn near unstoppable before Tee went out of the game, and that’s without our starting RT, our starting LT hobbling around on a fractured leg, and our backup RB shouldering the run game. Get it done.

Playoffs aside, beating the Steelers is always wonderful.
That is what I said to my dad last night. We made some Cincy-style chili dogs and just enjoyed seeing Burrow for one last time this season, and in beating the NFL team I hate more than any other by a mile. We all know the miracle we need to get into the playoffs likely won't happen and was caused by our own inability to win just one close game that we lost. But it is nonetheless a high note to end on and I have never cared about draft position if it means we beat the Steelers.

On the draft, first round has to be a DL or DB. A DE or DT is my preference and really, Tyleik would be a perfect pick later in the first round. We need a brutal gap stuffer to quit getting gashed in the run game, which has happened nonstop since Reader left...he also generates pressures on the QB mind you. We also could go CB, we really need help there. If we go offense in the first, then I would strongly consider Warren from PSU, especially if Higgins is gone...I realize Higgins is a WR, but Warren is an all around threat that could roughly match production.

Burrow def looked confused and almost got himself seriously hurt without Tee in the game. But Tee is injury prone and do they really want to pay $15M/year or whatever for a 9 to 12 game per year WR? Couldn't they trade him for a draft pick and a good defensive player? Then try to replace him in the draft and save a ton of money with a good receiver group addition.

It was sickening listening to Aikman heap praise upon Zac for winning the last 5. Please - his signature slow start put the Bengals in this hopeless position.

Really, Lou’s stubbornness to play younger players set this team back. The youthful resurgence was a large reason they were able to lock in and win 5 in a row. Getting good play from the DT spot and DE opposite Trey played a huge role in that and took a lot of pressure off the secondary.

Well, we fired about everyone except Taylor somehow. Gonezo sauce includes Anarumo (DC), Bettcher (LB coach) and Hobby (DL coach). On offense, Pollack is fired as OL coach.

I don't disagree with any of these decisions, except Taylor should also be fired. We are clearly burning the team to the ground level, cut Tee and find a new HC. Next year is going to be a disaster anyways, just clear the house.

Source: Bengals fire DC Lou Anarumo after missing playoffs

The Cincinnati Bengals fired defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo on Monday after missing the postseason, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Bengals (9-8) missed the postseason despite outstanding seasons from quarterback Joe Burrow (4,918 yards, 43 touchdowns) and wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (127 receptions, 1,708 yards, 17 TDs).

Anarumo, 58, has been the Bengals' defensive coordinator for the past six seasons.

The Bengals had the NFL's sacks leader in Trey Hendrickson (17.5) but finished 25th in points allowed this season.

Anarumo has proven to be a good DC if he has sufficient talent. Even figured out this squad by the end of the year, and his talent level is low. I’m guessing another team will grab him and he’ll be successful at his next stop.
If they were willing to fire Anarumo, they should have cut Taylor also.
