Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

Just win.

I keep telling myself that and it's true, a W is a W in the League. But that was a really frustrating second half in so many respects. The biggest was just awful and I mean awful officiating, especially that fumble by Jones that was quite clearly a fumble...wipes off a TD and at the very least we should have got possession, then NE scores. Second we go all Tressel ball in the second half instead of finishing it off. Then the turnovers and general lack of execution, really hope McPherson doesn't have the yips in crunch time because we really need him. Finally, you get the news that Collins is going to be fine after the game, followed by news that his ACL and MCL are torn and he's gone this year, and probably part the beginning of next year. Only solace there is Adeniji has good experience now and has improved a lot at RT, and experience all the way to the SB, so I'm not hitting the panic button at all over Collins.

But yes, very happy to have the W and a shot to position ourselves for a possible 2 seed and division title. 1 seed seems unlikely because of how weak KC's remaining schedule is, but just keep winning and carry that momentum into the playoffs. After the start we had though, I'm ecstatic to be in this position and be on such a run. Who Dey!

Looking back the last few games...Jonah Williams is awful. Now Collins gets hurt? Our edge is dead. I have zero faith in Jonah on the LT unless it's me coming. Hate to say it, but the dude is just not getting it done.

Edit: Sorry...but we're screwed at tackle.

Joe Burrow gave his offensive linemen epic Christmas gifts this year

No such thing exists (right?), yet every year fans get to see what each of the league’s 32 quarterbacks did for the big guys up front who keep them clean.

Burrow? He bought each member of the line a spot on a cruise for themselves and a plus-one, according to Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

No further details for obvious reasons, but it’s a fun gift idea. Others this year included getting linemen scooters and golf clubs, among the notables.

I knew Collins wasn't good, but I hadn't paid much attention to how suspect Williams was until giving the Bengals a going over this week before placing my wagers.

Fortunately for Joey Buckets, what matters most to him is that interior pocket integrity. At long as the IOL holds up well, he short drop depth, quick release and athletic ability *should* help to negate some of the issues at OT.

Why the Bengals' historic ATS run deserves more attention

i

Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals have amassed a 20-3 ATS record so far this season, rivaling Tom Brady and the New England Patriots dynastic run.

The Bengals won (and covered) in Foxborough on Christmas Eve, and it appears they are simply the gift that keeps on giving. Including last postseason, Cincy has now covered in 20 of 23 games, a run that is about as dynastic as anything we've seen. The irony of Burrow covering in the house that Tom Brady built should not be lost. Brady had one of the best 23-game runs we've ever seen, guiding the Patriots to a 22-1 mark starting in Week 2 of the 2003 season extending through Week 4 of the following regular season.

Nail meets hammer. But I'll say Collins was really playing better around game 5...him getting hurt is a loss, even if Adeniji is a capable backup. On Williams though, he's a giant liability and getting absolutely manhandled at LT.... need a replacement there next year, hell bring Whitworth out of retirement and it'll be an improvement. Some of my Bengals friends are defending him and I really don't get why, he's not even slowing down edge rushers. He would do a better job just falling down in front of them to slow them down.

But as you said, Burrow will just move up on the pocket and adjust his throwing angles knowing that. Cappa, Karras and Volson don't fail us now. They're so critical moving forward. And the quick release Burrow got to master because of OL issues last year, so he is well versed there. He's remarkably better with the quick release, which he has realized to other team's chagrin.

Maybe I'm still shell-shocked from last year's playoffs.
Yes, I know he was playing Guard and his natural position is Tackle and ...

I've just never seen an interior line pass-block as poorly and he was a major part.

Good thing he won't be on the interior, but you're not wrong. He was a square in a hole peg at guard, we just had to do that out of necessity. If he can kick out at tackle, I think the results will be improved. Dude can play, but he'll finally be at his natural position. Or I'm wrong and poor Joe is going to get murdered.
