Well…..shit. I was not expecting the Bengals to playing next Sunday. I’m either going to be in the car making a 12 hour drive back from NC or I’m going to be on a boat 40 miles off the coast looking for birds if the Saturday trip gets weathered out. Oops.

Apparently, the pussies in charge thought taking a small craft out into the Nor’easter off the Atlantic coast was a bad idea, so my pelagic trip got canceled. So we went up to Lake Erie for Friday and Saturday where we found the lake frozen solid and most of the waterfowl way beyond sight. Nothing liking standing out in sub-20 temps to not be able to see the goddamn birds. Bucks basketball? Heart-breaking loss. USMNT? Loss. This weekend was a total fucking loss.

That whole discussion (if you look at the responses to this tweet) really illustrate why I have a hard time really getting into the NFL these days (I'm only still tuning in now to root for the Cinderella Underdog Bengals).

So many of the discussions about the NFL are so overly-stat driven (stats are great when used responsibly) and is so focused on Fantasy Football and gambling that it really produces some mind-numbingly dumb narratives.
