Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase already set records through the first seven games of his career. With the former LSU star owning the most receiving yards (754) through the first seven games of a career, his former Tigers teammate Justin Jefferson is rooting for him to break the rookie receiving record.

Jefferson set the record last season with 1,400 yards in his first with the Minnesota Vikings. At this point, Chase is on pace to break the record in just 14 games. Of course, the NFL expanded to 17 games so Chase’s pace is definitely eyebrow raising based on his production so far. Jefferson talked up his former LSU mate this week.

“He’s been doing a great job,” Jefferson said, via Courtney Cronin of ESPN. “He’s killing it, especially having Joe, his college quarterback. I’m proud of him and of Joe and I hope he does break it.”

I swear, if what Hilton did is actually a defensive penalty, NFL coaches need to start teaching their receivers to try to get the defenders helmet to hit theirs at all times. Why try to earn yards the hard way when you can sucker refs into drive-sustaining penalties?

The officials seemed to have a double standard. I saw Jets crack back block, hands to face, defensive PI in the end zone - none of it called. It's not as if they didn't know what hands to the face is because they called it against the Bengals. Then the helmet to helmet call to hand it to the Jets.

If the Bengals could have scored when they started the drive from one yard away...

All three of the Bengals' losses have been by 3 points.

Of all the ridiculous helmet-to-helmet penalties ever called, that may be the most ridiculous. What a crock of shit.
I’m not a Bengals fan, just saw that call this morning. That was atrocious.

There have to be consequences for calls that are that bad. The ref that made that call should be notified that his services won’t be required this postseason.
