Cincinnati Bengals (2011 Season)

Or else? We know that old [censored] isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Haha true. I'm just saying that my high opinion of his drafting as of the last 3 years might be damaged. Bone-headed choice imo...I saw a bigger gap in DeCastro and Zeitler than what we traded down to get. Of course it could work out, but on paper it looks like a dumbass move.

It's like the Bengals and Browns both hired the same firm to draft for them..Both of them are trying to run away from any pick that might have talent.

I think the The Cleve/Cincy threads should just merge for next years draft..call it the Browngals..or the Bengowns..it wouldn't matter.

i know it's already been posted, but this is chris perry/stephen jackson all over again. how can you pass up on the safest pick in the draft, a position of need, for an extra blowhard 3rd round pick? let me know how many impact guys come from late in the 3rd round. the only positive is that it's not brandon weedon

A lot of the depressed fans seem to be forgetting we were playing with house money tonight. Without the complete gift from Oakland, the Bengals would have been in a really tough position at pick 21 - Decastro likely still there, but they still really needed a CB. That means possibly trading up for a good CB, reaching for one at 21 assuming Dre was gone, or maybe doing some other trade or doing without a 1st rnd CB.

Today, the Bengals got a solid 1st rnd CB, Solid late 1st rnd G, and somehow whipped up a free 3rd rounder. On top of that, there is next years free 2nd round pick. Some fans will never be happy until they are allowed in the draft room and given a coach's salary.

Teams with extra early picks in the first few drafts using the new rookie pay scale can really set themselves up well for the long-term. On that note, you have to feel bad for RG III - how does he have any chance for success in Washington? If I were him, I might just sit out a year.

Why so high on James? He has great speed, and I think he would be a great number 2, but have doubts that he can be an every down RB, based on size. Miller is bigger than James and I think he ran a 40 that was close to what James ran.
