Just awful, behavior was inexcusable on both squads. There need to be a lot of suspensions handed out - again both squads. Disgusting thuggery by Gates and Lyons, especially.

WTF was Chris Mack thinking by letting this little punk Lyons shoot his mouth off in the post-game press conference? Mack deserves a reprimand from his league and his school for not putting Lyons in the deep freeze after that fracas.

If a Buckeye player ever does crap like that, I'll be writing my alumni association for his immediate removal from school not just the basketball team. The late 90's were awful and I don't ever want to be associated with UC in any way, shape or form.

So trash talk is justification for opening up somebody's eye with a sucker punch? If that was the case, Michael Jordan deserved to get [censored]ing shot. I'm not saying the X guy is not a punk. Just saying that anything "said" in no way justifies or excuses the juggalo response.

Jawing isnt good sportsmanship but its not slapping someones face or throwing punches. The coaches need to reign in the smacktalk, I agree. But we've been on the other end of violence before at Minny, and I don't ever want any Buckeye seen doing anything like this.

If the shit talk was all there was he could have been reprimanded by the team. UC escalated it.

Re: The ugliest part of the fight came when Bearcats forward Yancy Gates only perpetuated the reputation of UC players as misfits when he slugged Xavier center Kenny Frease in the face with a brutal cheap shot that left Frease bloodied. A very talented but underachieving senior big man who was averaging 12.9 PPG and 9.1 RPG so far this season, Gates was suspended last February for a violation of team rules but claimed he was a changed man in October.

I'm just a juggalo....and everywhere I go.......

All I can say is that this whole incident was started by X players. I am beihind Yancy 100% and if he gets more than 5 games there is something seriously wrong with the NCAA. Tu, Lyons, and Wells should get the same punishment Yancy gets and Freeze should be tested for his cocaine addiction and not play a single game the rest of the year, as well as assaulting LD's wife, god help that man if he ever comes up to Dayton! All I can say is that no matter the outcome, I am proud that OUR bearcats stood up for their teammates and will hopefully change their season around from hear on out. X is a bunch of thug as$ bums who don't deserve the least bit of respect from any UC fan. All I can say is that I cant wait to let the team know how much I support them when they come up to Dayton for the Wright State game on wednesday. (Sitting 3 rows behind the team) Go Bearcats and long live UC!!!

I wonder if the NCAA is going to stagger suspensions like the NBA does in brawl circumstances.

If it's non-staggered, it's going to be interesting to see how many players each school has suited up next game.

Okay, I'm not defending anyone there buddy. There is no room for thrown punches, as well as thugs talking shit to each other pregame, during game and so on. It escalates the longer it goes on, and it went on the entire. game.
