Only a few negative comments so far...

1. No new school logos to choose from...logo choices are still seriously weak.

2. The create-a-sign thing is WAY overrated.

4. Haven't even played my first dynasty game and they want me to suspend Joe for 3 games and Fox for 2...thats a load of crap!

Other than that...pretty sweet.

EB is so full of shit. they lied to me on the phone too. i told them i would be up near the store and asked if i could pick up my pre order. they said they didnt have it. then i called a little bit later and said i pre-ordered and was wondering if they had it and they said they werent RELEASING it till tomorrow.

if you have the game just give it to me assholes.

Same feelings here. I had it preordered, and I was told it was guaranteed to be available at 7PM I have a second job at a mall, and I was able to get my boss to let me out at 7 to walk to the other end to pick it up. When I got there, the line was out the door, and I was told that they wouldn't be there till 7:30. So, I went back to work, and was able to get him to let me leave 10 mins. early to try again. When I got there, the guy started ringing up a PS2 version for me. I told him I needed Xbox (duh! Why would I own a crappy PS2:) ), and he told me that the delivery guy "forgot" the Xbox copies.

So, instead of spending my evening destroying the Evil Forces of the North, I get to tool around on the internet. EB does indeed suck, but I had to go through them due to my lack of cash flow and the fact that they offered a pretty sweet deal on trade-ins that went toward preorders.

I kinda like the Create-a-sign... I made one that says, " Welcome to Columbus, BITCH!" It's prominently displayed every time A.J flattens the QB

As for the HD, it says 480p... no mention of 720.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the difference between 480 and 720? Just higher resolution? We Po' Student types can't afford them fancy HD-dealies

My thoughts on the game, if i may editorialize...


#1. Run blocking: Much improved, IMO. Those HB Tosses and counter traps are now solidly led, and once they reach the corner, it's party time.

#2. Hot/Cold Players: As I am a pathetic passer, and VERY inconsistent, this REALLY bumps up the difficulty for me. I think it's a good new wrinkle for the game.

#3. It seems as though the pass action is tighter. What would have been a perfect lead in 2004 now seems to miss by a mile. Maybe Zwick just isn't as accurate.

#4. Ross is solid. Esp. with Joe to lead him. It's great to see my Bucks pounding the ball (even if it IS just my pixellated bucks)

#5. Graphics. I am very, very happy with the graphics. The stadium and crowd look AWESOME (I'm running on an analog TV using S-video connection) Those of you with better setup are in for a treat.

#6. Sound is GREAT. The crowd sounds like Gameday (If I crank the Dolby :)). The refs' whistles, for some reason, just sound so real.

All in all, I'm a happy boy. I AM easily impressed, however.

This one has a visual comparison (albeit a poor one) between 480p and 720p.

480p isn't high definition, it's "enhanced definition", what you'd get from digital cable for example. It's low end of the definition totem pole for the Xbox. The difference between that and either 720p or 1080i could be compared to the leap between VHS and DVD. Meaning it's an entirely perceptible jump.

I can only assume they ran into problems with framerates dropping at 720p and had to scale back again.

True HD makes the best DVD presentations look like garbage
