Chris WormLLLLLey (traitor)

I've always thought of Wormley as something of a tweener. He's going to outgrow DE and move inside to DT but he's tall and not really a consistently physical player. I wonder how effective he'll be there.

I think Washington is far more likely to be a difference-maker in college and I would be far more upset if OSU lost out on him. And, looking at how recruits might develop, Josh Perry projects as an exciting player. He's now only 16 but is already 6-4 235 and still growing. And he hasn't really spent time on a serioius strength program yet since he also plays basketball and runs track (sprints, hurdles and long jump). He could easily end up as a 6-5 260 freak with sprinter's speed. I'd be very upset if OSU lost out on him (which won't happen).

Wormley's Toledo Whitmer squad took on Se'Von Pittman's Canton McKinley squad in the D-I Region 2 Semifinals last night. Whitmer won by the tune of 37-6.

Wormely had 4.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble in the game. Seems like the knock on Wormley is that he disappears at times and doesn't dominate like that night in and night out.

Saw this guy play four times this past fall and he is a physical specimen. I've seen his interviews, and he is a really well spoken young man.

I'd have some concern about his motor. He plays the game now where he looks like he can make ANY play when he tries to. Problem is, he's waiting until big moments for maximum effort. I've seen him bite on read option plays and jog behind the mis-read. I've seen him just go through the motions. I've also seen him dominate.

Interesting recruit, but certainly has the size to play anywhere. Super athletic. I wonder if he'd going to grow into a 'hand in the dirt' type of player.

I have not seen him in person but I think most people that have would certainly agree with that assessment. Great when he wants to be but can disappear for stretches. I expect that to change once Coach Mattison gets a hold of him. He has tremendous potential and one of the higher ceilings of all the DE recruits coming out of Ohio this year. Thanks for the input!
